The kids spent time at Auntie Jia’s house and did some coloring in the “classroom” at their house.
They also went for a walk to the playground.

This is a fun recess!

Then it was lunchtime and Alice and Leela joined them.
Watch us grow!

It’s still so HOT here in Southern California and the pool at Auntie Jia’s house is open!

Today, we went to visit Ankong and Ama at their new house. Ankong surprised the kids with a cool drawing tablet.

Peanut drew a snail that has a claw for picking up things.

Janie practiced writing her Chinese name.

It was over 100 degrees today and perfect for using Uncle Johnny’s inflatable bouncehouse waterslide!

Now that we are in Cerritos and everyone has been in “quarantine” for the past few months, we felt it was time to combine our “social bubbles”. Alice and Leela come over to Yai and Ta’s house everyday and we now we have added Toni and Thomas.

It’s so nice to be with the rest of the family again.

This morning, Alice and Leela came over and the kids had a fun time in the backyard. They played in Ta’s pond and pretended to play Animal Crossing with the net and fishing poles that Ta made for them.

In the evening, we went to Uncle Johnny’s house. They had a jousting match on the balance beam and played in the bouncehouse.

School is out so we are heading south to Cerritos! It’s our first road trip since February and everyone is excited to get out of town.

The kids were good about not touching anything if they had to go to the public restroom and ate in their lunch in the car.

We stopped at Harris Ranch to check out their meats. The kids brought their point-and-shoot cameras along to snap photos of everything in sight.

It was a nice place to stretch out legs, take a bathroom break (in a very clean place), and get out sillies out.

We also walked away with a lot of meat to cook this week!

We had a quick drive down (no traffic) and the kids did a great job keeping themselves occupied.

It’s Peanut’s Graduation Day from preschool. He started as a Honeybee when he was 20 months old and went all the way up to the Pre-Kindergarten class. With the pandemic and shelter-in-place, graduation was modified to a drive-by event. We lined up in our cars and Auntie Eleen decorated their minivan for the occasion.

When it was Peanut’s turn, his teachers were there to greet him and presented him with a certificate and tassel.

His buddy Ethan was also right behind us in their car!

Afterward, we met up at the ferry parking lot to take some photos.

Here is Peanut with his buddy Maya. Thanks for the candy lei!!

Congratulations to our Peanut!! Kindergarten, here we come!

It’s Toni and Thomas’ birthday today! They celebrated at Ankong and Ama’s house and we celebrated them over Facetime with popsicles.

We went one a family walk this warm evening. This photo of Dada and Janie reminded me of what they used to do every morning to get to work and school.

We ended up at a bench near the ferry dock and watched the sun go down.
