Swinging and Jumping Party

IMG_9794

Janie and Peanut went to Zoe’s 3rd birthday party today.

IMG_9780

It was at a sensory gym that had lots of swings and a huge trampoline.

They served pizza and fruit and Janie sat next to the birthday girl at the table.

Peanut slept for part of the time and then had 3 poopy diapers including a blow-out with outfit change on the last one.

the whole family

IMG_9710

Each morning when Janie gets dropped off at school, she makes a request for who she wants to pick her up in the afternoon.  Today, she told Yai that she wanted Mama, Dada, and Peanut to pick her up – the whole family.  We can’t always fulfill her requests but today we did.  She was so happy to see us and chuckled a bit when she saw Peanut in the stroller too.

IMG_9714

Before heading home, she gathered her artwork with her teacher and gave them both hugs.

IMG_9717

This evening’s walk home involved the use of both our strollers at the same time.

IMG_9719

On the way home, we stopped for a snack at a local cafe and she got to finish what was packed in her lunchbag.

IMG_9721

She sat on Dada’s lap since it was too hard to reach the table from the bench.

IMG_9723

Peanut also got to eat and then stayed awake for a while.

IMG_9725

Our last stop was the local pizza place to pick up dinner.  While we waited for our order, Janie tried to feed Mama some of the scraps of paper that she had made at school.

IMG_9726

Silly girl.

IMG_9727

This is how we brought the pizza home tonight.  Thanks, Peanut!

Trolley Outing

IMG_9598

We love having the trolley on the weekends now.  We rode it down to Washington St. today and Janie had such a good time.

IMG_9601

Dada carried Peanut and he napped, as usual.

IMG_9604

Once off the trolley, we walked up Washington Street to one of our favorite cafes in Chinatown.  At one point, Janie didn’t want to ride in the stroller or walk, so she rode on Dada’s shoulders.  He looked like a sherpa carrying both kids at the same time.

IMG_9606

At the restaurant, Peanut borrowed the stroller for some napping and to just hang out while we all ate.  He was such a good baby.

IMG_9610

On the walk back to the Ferry Plaza, Janie took her nap in the stroller and then woke up for a special treat – soft serve!!!

IMG_9613

The weather outside was so nice and we all got a little bit of sunshine.

IMG_9616

It was such a nice afternoon that we stopped at Hi-Dive for a snack on the patio.  We got chicken wings so that Janie could enjoy some crudites.  She was specifically looking forward to eating carrots so when the dish came with just celery, she asked for carrots and the nice waitress brought her a whole plate!

IMG_9619

Afterward, Janie ran down The Embarcadero all the way home.

IMG_9619a

Here’s a close-up of this photo.  It looks like she’s floating!

IMG_9620

This is definitely one of our favorite things about SF.  The Embarcadero allows this 3-year-old to get burn some energy and run free while Mama and Dada get some fresh air and sun.

Getting Ready

IMG_9549

This morning, Peanut was really fussy each time I put him down.  So, into the carrier he went and that was when he fell asleep for a monster nap.  This allowed me to then tackle Janie’s morning needs including doing her hair.  She wanted a braid like Elsa from Frozen.  This was the best I could do. She loved it.

Evening Outing

IMG_9525

Mama needed to go outside for a while so when Dada came home from work, we all went out for a walk.

IMG_9526

We sat outside at the cafe downstairs and Janie did some people watching since there was a baseball game starting at the time.

IMG_9528

IMG_9537

Then we walked down to the Italian cafe for a snack and more people watching.

Lunch with Dada

IMG_9438

Dada was free for lunch today so we went to his office.  We waited in the lobby and Janie looked like a little person with her fake phone.

IMG_9439

When he came down, we walked up the hill to a restaurant nearby.

IMG_9444

We shared a pizza and salad today and Janie ate up everyone’s walnuts.

IMG_9446

We also had a yummy dessert and Janie LOVED the vanilla ice cream on top.

Big Sis Outing

IMG_9359

This morning, we took Janie to the Cal Academy of Sciences and Yai stayed home with Peanut.  Janie had been asking to go to the aquarium for two weeks now so it was time.

IMG_9361

We got there early enough for us to have plenty of room to explore the aquarium downstairs without the crowds.

IMG_9367

IMG_9369

Janie is such a big girl now that she helped herself to the tide pool by pushing up her sleeves and just going for it.  When she was done touching everything, she cleaned her hands all on her own too!

IMG_9371

IMG_9374

As a special souvenir, we gave her 51 cents to get a pressed penny.

IMG_9376

She chose the fishie penny – how appropriate.

IMG_9377

Mommy didn’t pack any snacks today so we went to the cafe.  Janie picked out the crudités with ranch dip and pretty much ate the whole thing.

IMG_9380

What a fun morning!

IMG_9387

And while we were out, Peanut slept…ah…

Saturday Afternoon

IMG_9327

The twins came over this afternoon and Auntie Jia read stories to everyone.

IMG_9333

We finally got a photo of all 4 of them together and Big GG joined the group too.

IMG_9337

Here is a photo of the three babies again.

I have a feeling we’re going to have a large collection of these side-by-side photos and videos of them.

IMG_9352

For the dinner, we had Chinese food delivered and it was yummy!

Trolley Ride

IMG_9308

There’s a new weekend line that picks up right in front of our house and it’s a TROLLEY!!  Janie gets so excited when she sees a trolley so it was a such a special treat for her to ride one.

IMG_9312

We had the whole trolley to ourselves this morning and Janie happily sat by the window singing her own little trolley song.

IMG_9316

IMG_9318

The best part of this ride for us is that it stops right in front of the Ferry Plaza Farmer’s Market.  It’s so much more convenient than the regular muni train.

IMG_9320

What made the morning even more exciting was that we had lunch at one of her favorite restaurants – Hog Island!!  She tried fried anchovies for the first time today and gobbled up about 3 on her own.  When the raw oysters arrived, she helped herself and showed Yai how to squeeze the lemon, scoop the hog wash onto the oyster, and use the tiny fork to eat it.  On top of that, she slurped and practically bathed herself in the clam chowder that we shared.  What an epic meal it was for her.
