House of Prime Rib

IMG_0040

For dinner, we went to House of Prime Rib.  We had a bit of a wait but the girls did ok sitting on the barstools waiting together.

Alice shared her videos with Janie and they were mesmerized.

IMG_0048

We also took some time to take a few snapshots together.

IMG_0399

Dinner was yummy and Janie had some of Mama’s prime rib and mashed potato.

Family Fried Chicken

IMG_0023

For lunch, we celebrated Mommy and Uncle Johnny’s birthdays with Uncle Jason and Auntie Jia.  We all met up at one of our favorite fried chicken places and found a big table that fit all 13 of us!

IMG_0337

The girls sat next to each other in highchairs at one end of the table.

IMG_0338

They shared toys and played together while waiting for the food.

IMG_4321

The twins joined the party and watched all the activity from their seats.

IMG_0022

Peanut slept for the beginning of lunch and then woke up hungry and wanting to join the party.

Peanut and Thomas hung out outside with their dads for a while too.

Dinner at Hog Island

IMG_0301

For dinner, we took the train to the Ferry Plaza.

IMG_0716

Peanut was wide awake for the ride and walk over there.

IMG_4301

While we waited for our table, Janie read books to Alice.

IMG_4307

She was VERY excited to see the oyster platter sitting right in front of her.  Look at the excitement in her face.  She already ate one before Mama could even put her bib on!

Thai food

IMG_0557

This evening, we went out for an early dinner at the local Thai restaurant.  The servers there recognized us.  One lady said, “Last time you were here you were pregnant, right? This must be the baby!”  They remember us mostly because it’s where Mama and Janie go to eat together when Dada is working late.  We are likely the only mom and 3-year-old pair that comes in to eat there.  They think Janie is so adorable but Janie won’t speak to them.  Today was the same.  Maybe Peanut will be more interactive with them.

IMG_0560

Once again, she got her favorite Tom Kha Soup and ate Mama’s noodles and bean sprouts.  I’m glad some things haven’t changed.

IMG_0565

She also walked home while holding onto the clip on the stroller.  Peanut was enjoying his tasty hand the whole time.

Early Outing

IMG_0398

We were all up really early this morning so we headed out for breakfast down the street.  Luckily this restaurant opens at 8!

IMG_0399

Janie snacked on their mini muffins and helped prepare Mama’s coffee while we waited for the food to arrive.

IMG_0401

She looks like such a little lady here.

IMG_0403

Janie got her own pancake and cutting with a fork and knife is getting easier nowadays.

IMG_0405

Peanut woke up half-way through out meal and was in a pretty good mood.

IMG_0407

It was already getting warm at that hour so he came out and got a little morning sun with all of us.

Lunch Date

IMG_0294

Since we were in Walnut Creek to see the dentist, we met up with Sophie and Auntie Ranee for lunch!  Sophie had just finished her morning at preschool so it was perfect timing!  The girls each ate their lunches and then got a free ice cream sundae.  Janie got chocolate chips on her ice cream and Sophie got sprinkles.

IMG_0296

Before heading home, the girls sat on the rocking chairs outside.

IMG_0299

This photo reminded me of an older one from about 2 years ago.  They have grown so much!

Morimoto

IMG_9908

We all went out to Morimoto for a fancy dinner tonight.  On the walk over, Maya and Peanut fell asleep.  While we waited for our table, the two babies napped side-by-side in Uncle Jimmy’s double stroller.

IMG_9911

Janie also fell asleep when we arrived at the restaurant.

IMG_9917

She woke up long enough to have some sashimi and the soup we ordered for her.

IMG_9918

Peanut also hung out in our laps for most of dinner and was a good boy.

IMG_9925

For dessert, we took all the kids to Gott’s for ice cream.  Yay!  Janie and Zoe also stayed up late to hang out with the grown-ups at the hotel lobby afterward.

Dada’s Birthday

IMG_9761

Dada turned 40 today and Janie made a card for him this morning.  They’ve been reading a book about construction trucks so she added lots of construction stickers inside.

IMG_9762

Here is the final product.  She wrote half of the letters of her name inside and colored in the heart very nicely.

IMG_9763

She also drew the cake on the front.  Mama helped with the frosting squiggles.  She also chose to address him as “Dad” on the card today.

IMG_9765

When he woke up, she gave him the card and he was super excited to see all the construction stickers.  She said, “there’s an excavator and a cement truck!”

IMG_9798

Janie also made a big birthday brownie for Dada with Mama’s help, of course.

IMG_9805

For dinner, we all went out for salt and pepper crab.  Uncle Jason drew some funny pictures for her.

IMG_9808

She ate up a whole bunch of crab and steamed fish.  Dada had to work hard cracking the crab for her and keeping up with her appetite.

IMG_9818

Peanut slept for the beginning of dinner and then woke up for a feeding too.  He stayed awake for the rest of the meal and the kids took a picture with Dada before heading home.

When we got home, we all sang “Happy Birthday” to Dada and ate the yummy brownie that she made.
