This girl is always so happy to have Kao Mun Gai (a.k.a. Hainan Chicken Rice) for dinner. It’s also one of Mama’s favorite meals. Luckily, Dada learned how to make it from Yai a while back.

This afternoon, Mama picked up Janie from school and found her at the art table with her friends Radeet and Ami. One of her favorite things to do at school is cut paper into small pieces.

We tried to take the train home today but there was a long delay. So, we took advantage of the nice weather and walked home along The Embarcardero. It’s the beginning of Fleet Week here in SF so there was a big navy ship docked at Pier 32.

We stopped at the tables near the park for a popcorn snack and milk.

Peanut made his first visit to Redwood City to hang out with his cousins.

Here’s all three of them on the floor mat together.

Janie took this photo of Peanut and Thomas together.

For dinner, we had Chinese food and Janie had a feast! There were noodles, pickled vegetables, crab, and CLAMS!

Peanut was a good boy and hung out on our laps throughout the meal.

Janie had a classroom picnic today at a park in SF.

There were lots of cool things to play on including this big spinning cage that most of the kids went on together.

There was a good turnout and Mama and Dada got to meet her classmates and their parents too. We all brought food and shared.

Peanut took a nap and then got a little bit of sun when he woke up.

Here is Janie with her primary teacher, Denise.

On the way from the park to Uncle Jason’s house, Janie took a quick nap. She was so tired from all the sun and excitement.

This evening, Janie set-up camp in her bed with her babies (in their beds made out of Amazon boxes). She read stories to them while dinner was being prepared.

During dinner, Peanut wanted some company so he sat on Dada’s lap while ate.

After dinner, Janie chatted with Ankong and Ama over FaceTime.

It’s great having the trolley pick up in front of our house. It drops us off right in front of the Farmers’ Market!

This morning, we were sitting in front of the coffee store at the Ferry Plaza and Janie said, “Mama, take a picture of us.” Aw…she really does like taking selfies.

For doing such a good job staying close to us through the crowd, Janie got her favorite treat there: vanilla and chocolate swirl (soft serve) with a cone and a spoon.

For dinner, we had soba and salmon. We tried to convince her that she should hold both chopsticks in one hand but she showed us how efficient she could be with one chopstick in each hand.

This girl is stubborn but had a good point. She later used the chopsticks the right way to pick up and eat the salmon.

Before bed, she sat in her “bedroom” and read some of her favorite books. One of them happened to be called “Chopsticks”.

After two and a half months, Yai said goodbye to us today and went back to Cerritos.

We cannot thank her enough for all the hard work and patience she put into helping our little family survive.

She helped entertain and care for Janie while Mama was super preggo.

Her cooking was awesome and Dada got to eat the most rice he’s had in a very long time.

She helped prepare Janie for the arrival of Peanut and taught her what it meant to be a big sister.

She also helped take Janie to school in the mornings and made the transition so much easier.

The house is tidier and cleaner because of her and it was so much fun having her around.

We love you and will miss you [——————this much———————–]!!

To celebrate Mama and Uncle Johny’s birthdays, we had dinner at Ad Hoc.

Janie took a nap in the car before dinner and was starving so she got started while we perused the menu.

Peanut also woke up hungry and we were prepared for our chunky monkey!

Afterward, we hung out in the carrier while the family ate dinner. What a good boy!

We all had a delicious meal and because he did such a good job eating her dinner, Janie got a tasty chocolate mousse for dessert.

Peanut didn’t get any dessert but instead hung out on Yai’s lap.

What a fun birthday dinner for everyone!!

We visited Sterling Vineyard while we were in Napa Valley. The best part was the gondola ride up to the winery.

Janie sat with Ta and Yai while Peanut sat with Mama and Dada.

Once at the top, everyone got out and started the self-guided tour. The view was very nice up there.

On the terrace, the grown-ups got a tasting of pinot noir and the girls got cups of ice cold water.

They sat on the terrace together, drinking their water and reading a book.

Inside, the Janie saw large oak barrels and tried very hard not to run up and down the ramps.

We got a family photo together before heading to dinner.
