Watch us grow!

Dada was not feeling well so we went out to our usual Thai restaurant for dinner and brought some soup home for him.

Peanut sat at the table with Mama and Janie and had fun with the napkin.

After he had his food, the table and placemat became fun things to chew on. Luckily, the placemat kept him from chewing on the actual table.

He was up to all kinds of mischief this evening!

Peanut had his first puffs today and did better than expected. He didn’t gag nearly as much as Janie did when she was a baby and did some munching too. It was fun watching him trying to pick them up and put them in his mouth.

This evening, Peanut got his first celery stick.

Nom nom nom!

He also got some rainbow carrot puree and gobbled it up.

The spoon was pretty tasty too.

Janie rode her scooter to dim sum this morning and then rode to the Ferry Plaza afterward. JBF came along too.

Because of Super Bowl City, they had a bike valet so that’s where Janie parked her scooter along with Dada’s longboard.

Off they go!

We stopped for a photo with the firetruck that was parked outside of the firehouse.

Janie did a great job riding all the way home without pooping out or crashing.

We celebrated the Lunar New Year this morning and Peanut joined the gang at the table with his applesauce and some of Mama’s jook.

He also got his hands on this bao but luckily didn’t get it to his mouth before Mama caught him.

Happy New Year!!

Dada was helping a friend move today so Mama flew solo with both kids today. We started the morning with a tricycle ride across the bridge to take in the view.

Peanut took a nap on the ride over to McCovey Cove and then woke up in time to see the water.

For lunch, we stopped for a bean burrito. Janie managed to eat 3/4 of it on her own! She must have worked up quite an appetite.

Then it was back out on the tryke. She rode around the block once and then we headed across the bridge again.

By then, people were arriving early to line up for the Metallica concert being held at AT&T Park.

Janie loved the giant concrete baseballs at the park and asked “can we take it home?”

Then we rode back across the bridge and saw the long line of fans on our way to the playground.

It was such a nice day to be outside. Too bad we forgot to bring Jellybean Fred along with us.

Peanut drank this whole bottle on his own.

This evening, Peanut held the bottle on his own. He seemed pretty pleased with himself.

This afternoon, Mama and Dada attended Janie’s Parent-Teacher Conference. We arrived just as the kids were waking from their naps. That’s Janie in the middle (on her tummy) looking up at us. She was very excited to see us in the middle of the afternoon.
When it was time for the conference, Mama and Dada sat in a quiet room with her teacher, Denise, to discuss how she has been doing so far in class. She printed out a list of things she has said in their weekly “Talking Stick Meetings”. It’s always on Mondays so the kids usually share what they did over the weekend. She likes to use the word “just” in her statements.

Here is a sample of her math activity. She did a pretty good job. We also got a few chuckles out of her teacher’s comments about her. It’s funny to hear that she has qualities similar to both Mama and Dada. Some highlights of the meeting:

After the conference, Dada went back to work and Mama stayed behind to let her enjoy a birthday celebration for one of her classmates before getting a ride home in the car with Mama.
We are so proud of how much our little girl has grown these past 4 months at preschool. It’s good to know that it’s money well spent.
