Today we went to the Cal Academy and met up with Rowan and Isla. We arrived first and hung out around the shark pool.

Peanut sat on the window that his big sister used to be so scared of. He watched the sharks and rays swim below him with such delight.

He also liked “standing” along the rails to see them swim by.

At the craft table, Janie made a Mars rover.

Here she is posing with her creation.

She also took a photo of her rover (above) and a photo of Mama posing with her rover (below). She’s getting pretty good with the camera.

During our snack, Peanut got to sit on the grass and I realized it was his first time touching grass.

He certainly didn’t mind it and seemed quite fascinated by it too.

Then we headed down to the aquarium where the kids had the most fun together.

They even posed for a photo together!

Before heading home, we walked down to the ice cream truck for a treat.

These kids had such a good time.

Peanut also woke up from his nap in time to enjoy the fresh air.

It was a rainy day so we went downstairs to the cafe for a little change of scenery. Peanut had a cracker while Janie played with her little animals.

Janie also had a chocolate chip cookie and was supposed to share with Mama.

Instead she ate the whole thing and then drew a picture of it for Mama. Funny girl.

After work, we all met up at the neighborhood restaurant for dinner. We ordered the salumi board and while Janie gobbled up all the meat, Peanut got the liver mousse (the tan blob on the far right of the board). Yum.

He ate the whole blob that was on the board. Baby needs his iron!

We had a fun time together as a family and the restaurant is surprisingly friendly and accommodating to kids.

Little Guy was whispering some interesting stuff to Dada this evening and Janie was amused.

We went out for a late brunch today and Peanut sat in the stroller snacking on puffs while the family enjoyed a tasty meal.

Janie got her very own plate of cornmeal pancakes with apple/berry compote and syrup (of course!)

Peanut later snoozed off to dreamland during the latter half of the meal and Mama got to relax a bit.

Peanut’s pediatrician has been pushing me to give him peanut butter for the past two months and I’ve finally gotten around to it. I made a puree of banana, yogurt, and peanut butter a couple night ago and made sure he was ok with eating yogurt first.

He tried the puree this morning and so far he’s been rash free and didn’t go into any respiratory distress right after eating it. It looks like Peanut is not allergic to peanuts! Yippee!

Janie has been asking to feed her little brother for a couple months now. This morning, she was my little helper with feeding him snacks. The first lesson was knowing when he was ready for another one. If it was up to her, she’d keep stuffing his mouth one at a time.

Instead, she learned how to watch him chew and move his mouth and then checking inside to make sure he had finished the first one she gave. I love seeing Peanut’s face light up when he sees his big sister.

The kids were up early again so we made our usual walk to Starbucks. Janie brought Little Guy and put her in her shirt because it was a little chilly outside.

Mama had coffee while Janie had a squeezey pouch. We also brought puffs and yogurt drops for Peanut.

Today was a special day for this little girl. To thank her for being such an awesome big sister, we treated her to a day with just Mama and Dada. The highlight of the day was going to see Disney on Ice Frozen. We got half-off tickets back in December and it was finally time to go!! Janie called the Oracle Arena North Mountain because we told her we were going to see Elsa today.

When we arrived, Mama gave her a necklace and bracelet that had Elsa and Anna’s picture on it.

We knew there would be lots of little girls dressed in Elsa and Anna costumes so this was our way of including her.

We arrived early enough to walk around the stadium and took the escalator all the way up to check out the view from the top.

Then we went down to the Club Level where we had some pretty good seats close to the floor.
We were so impressed with her ability to filter out all the crazy Frozen shwag that was being sold everywhere we turned. She didn’t care for the $24 light-up toys or the $20 t-shirts. She just kept saying “I don’t want any of that. I just want to go to my seat to see Elsa”. The one thing she did notice was the man with the popcorn on his head while we waited for the show to begin. She leaned over and whispered to Mama and asked “Mama, can I have some popcorn?” So, we got a giant box of popcorn for $7 and there was plenty to share between the three of us and probably the people seated all around us.

Before the show started, we walked a few steps down to check out the ice rink. Throughout the whole preshow, we saw Mickey, Minnie, and a bunch of other princesses skate around and Janie kept leaning over to Mama and asking “Where’s Elsa?”

Mama was excited to see an ice skating reindeer (Sven) but the highlight of the show for Janie was when Elsa came out and sang “Let it Go”.

Here’s a video of Janie singing along to the song with the cup of popcorn in her mouth.

This kid was literally at the edge of her seat the whole time and it was so fun to see her face light up throughout the show.

Janie said the only part that she didn’t like was when Marshmallow came out. Dada thought it was pretty cool.

It was so good that she couldn’t be bothered to look at the camera for a photo.

For lunch, we went to Fenton’s Creamery. It’s a famous ice cream parlor that was even featured at the end of the movie “Up”. Janie ate her kid’s hamburger and fruit before picking out her ice cream from the display.

She chose Rocky Road – the perfect ice cream that has chocolate ice cream and marshmallows (her favorites!) Her sundae came with rainbow sprinkles and two mini cookies on the side too!

This is one happy little girl.

At lunch, she also drew a picture of Elsa (person with yellow squiggly hair).

Dada (plunging neckline) and Mama (dress and cape) helped add a couple details and then she wrote the word “FROZEN” at the bottom.

When we got back to the city, we parked the car and took a walk around the neighborhood.

Janie carried around her big box of popcorn and snacked as we walked.

Then we stopped at MoMo’s for happy hour $1 oysters!! Janie ate all 6 of them on her own and was happy as a clam. Heh heh.
What a fun day with our First Born. Peanut stayed with Mimi all day and will have his own day later when he’s a little older.

This is how we keep Peanut entertained in the morning while Mama gets ready in the morning. He loves gnawing on a giant yellow carrot.

Nom nom nom!!
