It’s Monday morning and school is back in session at Mama’s old elementary school. Janie looked out the window to watch the kids getting out of the school bus.

Meanwhile, Peanut had a morning snack and was all smiles…as usual.

Ankong treated us to dinner this evening and ordered clams with black bean sauce for the birthday girl.

Peanut also snacked on the long beans and lasted through dinner without any fussing.

Auntie Terry gave her a princess castle and Auntie Janelle and Uncle Stan gave her a cute dress and a video.

The best part of the gifts was the tissue paper that came in the bag, which turned into an Elsa cape.

It was cute seeing Janie and Auntie Jia together again. Toni also joined in on the fun and got some good giggles.

We also got a decent (and rare) photo of our family of four. I love how the kids are holding hands.

Peanut got a snack this afternoon and Yai had to pull his hair back. This hairstyle makes him look just like Janie when she was his age.

Alice also came over after her nap and the girls did a little coloring before they got into an argument about putting them away. *sigh*

April is the Janie’s birthday month and since we were in Cerritos, we had small lunch for her with her grandparents. We took her to a local Thai restaurant and she was so excited to get her own fresh coconut.

She got a few presents from Ama and Ankong.

She also got an Octonauts playset from Uncle Johnny, Auntie Joy, and Alice.

Peanut had a good time snacking alongside the family and Ankong helped him throughout the meal.

He had quite a feast of tofu and carrots but a lot of it ended up on the floor too.

When lunch was done, we brought out an ice cream cake with candles. This little girl was so delighted.

She blew out her candles (with a little help from Daddy at the end) and then got a big slice for herself.

Peanut was up early again so Peanut went for a walk to the the Starbucks nearby.

We also took him to the Farmers Market to pick up some produce for Uncle Johnny and some popcorn for big sister.

Peanut scored an apple slice from one of the vendors.

The girls slept in separate rooms last night and Janie asked for Mama at one point. However, overall, she did great and had a fun time playing with Uncle Johnny before Alice woke up.

Here they are having breakfast together when Mama came by to pick Janie up.

For dinner, we went to Alice’s new house. They just finished remodeling and moved in last week.

The babies played together on the floor while the girls ran around the house singing “Let it Go”.

The girls also had dinner together and had so much fun together that we decided to having Janie spend the night.

They took a bath together and then played in Alice’s coffee shop before bed.

Hooray for their first Cousin Slumber Party!!

Mama was still too sick for dinner today so Janie had another night out with her Dada. This time it was her favorite Japanese restaurant across the street.

She loves everything about this place, the soup, the rolls, the edamame, and the RAW FISH!

The rainbow roll came out all pretty on the tray but then got decimated by the fish monster that peeled and ate all the fish on top.

I guess she knows what she likes. We’re gonna have to have a review on sharing.

Mama was home sick without an appetite so Janie got a special dinner at one of our neighborhood restaurants on the way home from school. Look at this charming little girl seated with a napkin on her lap!

Looks like they ordered mussels! Yum!

Janie also got a big plate of squid ink pasta with shrimp. Mama’s jealous.

This boy LOVES his tofu. He was so happy eating it and then would get upset when there wasn’t anymore on the tray.

He definitely got a bath after this dinner. It was everywhere.
