Pool Party

Today, we had Rowan and Isla over for a little pool party. Dada grilled up lunch and Mama made guacamole. These two sat down for a snack together as soon as they arrived.

Janie got a few new swim outfits in the mail this month and now she’s a big kid in regular swim bottoms instead of swim diapers.

Rowan and Isla brought pool noodles.

In the meantime, Peanut hung out with Mama in the clubroom. He eventually went down for his nap too. Aaaaah.

After swimming, the kids got a snack, juice, and some Octonauts. They had so much fun together today.

New Playground

With the ever-expanding neighborhood, it was about time we got more places for the kids to play. This brand-new park/playground opened today and we went to check it out.

With a little help, Janie climbed this tower to get to the slide (on the right). It’s the only way up…no stairs!

They also have this big cone that spins around.

There are several different swings. This disc one was cool.

This guy was so happy to be on a swing too. We finally have one close to home for him!

This playground is pretty big and has equipment for kids big and small.

It’s also close to the newest food park. Janie pointed out a giant dragon today on this food truck.

For dessert, she got Thai coconut sticky rice and mango. Yai’s recipe is better!

We had Janie’s end-of-the-year Parent-Teacher Conference today. Miss Denise had lots of nice things to say and that Janie was ready to move on to the Whale Class. In fact, we got notice that she is slated to start August 1st!

After the conference, we went to Waterbar for a snack.

As we waited for our server, Janie perused the wine list and Mama taught her how to use a Table of Contents. We played a game where she would find the page that a certain “chapter” started. She was also able to read the words “beer” and “red”. She was very excited about that. All the other words were a too complicated (i.e. sauvignon blanc).

The oysters were yummy today!

Meanwhile, Peanut snacked on melon that Mama brought. Janie took this photo.

In addition to what we orderd, she also finished off a pack of gummies that she opened after school. She thought ti was hilarious that her tongue was blue.

Big Sister hooked up Little Brother with some shredded cheese off her dinner plate.

He loved it. Can you tell he had a great time?! It was definitely time for a bath.

more volleyball and sun

Uncle Bang wanted to watch some volleyball so we met him at the tournament around lunch time.

While Dada and Uncle Bang watched one of the matches from the stands, Janie and Peanut hung out in a shady spot with lounge chairs and the big jumbotron.

Janie also blew big bubbles for Peanut and he was utterly thrilled.

Janie went on the slide and into the bounce house again before we headed out.

Later in the afternoon, we hung out across from AT&T park while the baseball game was going. This fake grass is the best!!

When we got home, the game just finished and the Sokol-Juns were at the game! So, they stopped by to say “hello” and Janie showed off her Gups to Reese and Jack. They finally have something in common.

Auntie Stephanie’s House

This afternoon, Peanut and Mama went to Auntie Stephanie’s house for a Bridal Shower. Peanut got to eat one of Auntie Karen’s salmon onigirazu. Yum!

He also got to hang out with his pal Max and they often fought over toys, food, and other things. In this match, it was over Max’s straw thermos. They both ended up crying. Boys will be boys…

Farmers Market

This morning, we went to the Farmers Market. Peanut lives a pretty good life. He gets to put his feet up, relax, and enjoy the sunshine without lifting a finger.

Janie and Dada rode their scooter and skateboard, respectively. Here they are waiting patiently for Mama and Peanut to arrive.

Today, the oranges were super sweet and Peanut got his first taste.

He enjoyed it so much that he got so upset when Mama took the rind away.

New Dinner Spot

A new food truck park opened near our house this week. It’s like the one we go to next to Costco but we can walk to this one. It’s located just down the street from the Peanut’s birth hospital. This food park has an old double-decker bus. Janie loved “driving”.
