Together again!!!

img_8297

Uncle Jason and Auntie Jia drove up yesterday and came over today with Toni and Thomas. Janie gave Thomas a great big hug when they arrived.

img_8301

The kids played together and Auntie Jia took some really cute photos of everyone while Mama was at work.

These guys are so cute together!!

Uncle Jason spent some quality time with his little Mini Me.

img_8291

The house was full of activity and it was so much fun to watch.

img_8292

For dinner, we went to R&G for some salt and pepper crab. The twins and Peanut gobbled up all the cauliflower and pasta that Mama made along with some noodles.

img_8293

Janie had a bunch of crab (thanks to Dada) and some tasty soup, rice, and noodles too.

img_8296

It was a fun dinner but we sure did leave quite a triple toddler mess!

Trader Joe’s and SO

img_8258

After school, we all went shopping at Trader Joe’s to pick up ingredients and snacks for the holiday weekend.  We are so excited to have Uncle Jason and Auntie Jia here this week!

img_8261

In the checkout line, Peanut got a sticker and placed it on his tummy (his left hand).

img_8264

Then we went across the street to SO and the kids had a tasty meal of rice and noodles. Peanut made a royal mess but had a great time eating.

img_8267

Janie tried the fried chicken pieces and actually liked it. She usually hates fried food.

TV Dinner

img_8223

We had a very low-key Sunday night. Dada set up both kids in the livingroom, turned on Octonauts, and warmed up leftover pizza from yesterday’s dinner.

img_8225

Surprisingly, Peanut stayed in his chair the whole time, happily ate his chicken, and got big sister’s pizza crust at the end.

In this video, he says his version of thank you and gracias. When he says thank you, it sounds more like “dats”. He JUST started saying “gracias” today and you can barely hear it in this video. I just love watching this emoji interact with his sister.

Octonauts Bowling

img_8163

Today, we went down to San Jose to celebrate Sadie and Theo’s 5th bithdays. It was an Octonauts party so Janie drew some pictures on their presents. The two go together. On the left is Captain Barnacles stuck in a giant clam and running out of air with the Gup A hanging out above the rough water. The scene on the right is Kwazii trying to rescue Captain in the Gup B. There is also a jellyfish and some fishies swimming in the water.

img_8168

The party was at an underwater-themed bowling alley next to a Bass Pro Shop.

img_8173

This was Janie’s first time bowling and she really liked using the ramp because it made the ball roll faster.

img_8187

She wore bowling shoes and had several balls to choose from. This one had a fish on it.

img_8190

Here’s the score card. As you can see, she made a strike in the 3rd frame and then a spare on the 4th. The girls also played for Peanut who got scared after his first try. I think it was too loud for him on the bowling lane.

img_8198

After a round of bowling, the kids all gathered for cake. Auntie Ishya went all out on the decorations and party favors. Janie picked out a Captain Barnacles cookie.

img_8202

The kids all wore their hats. Here’s Janie with her pal Sophie.

img_8204

At the cake table, Peanut got in on the action. Pretty soon he will be eating cake with the rest of the kids.

img_8219

Avia certainly enjoyed the banana cake.

img_8218

Janie opted for a cupcake and Peanut just sat to the side and finished his lunch. He managed to wear the hat for a few minutes before he ripped it off.

Little Baker

img_8141

Janie helped Mama make some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies this evening. She learned how to squeeze the dough out of the disher.

img_8146

Then she added some extra chocolate chips to make the cookies extra yummy.

img_8155

The hardest part of baking is waiting for the cookies to cook in the oven.  In the first batch, the cookies were too big and some of the cookies were touching when they were done. We made the cookies in the second batch smaller and while she watched them cooking, she said “these cookies look good and they have personal space!” That made Mama chuckle.

img_8157

When the cookies were cooled, Janie got to eat one all on her own.

img_8158

This is one happy little baker.

Light-up Night

img_8028

It’s that time of year again! Every year, on the Friday before Thanksgiving, we go to the Embarcadero Center to watch them light up the buildings and shoot off fireworks overhead. Auntie Stepanie and Vivian also went with us.

img_8035

img_8032

Peanut was a little scared when it got really loud.

img_8065

img_8137

After the fireworks, we had some ice cream from the shop next to us.

img_8068

Even Peanut got some ice cream!

img_8062

img_8078

After ice cream, we walked next door to the Hyatt to see the tree.  They used to do a lighting ceremony in the atrium but the new owners decided to discontinue that tradition. We were pretty bummed. At least we got a cute family photo in front of the tree.

Before heading home, we went to the patio at Sens to check out the view and hang out for just a bit longer.

What a fun evening!

“Eating” with a Fork

img_7943

Recently, Peanut has become very interested in eating with utensils. He seems to understand that the fork is for poking but he still prefers to use his fingers since it’s so much more efficient.

img_7944

He just thinks it’s fun to stab the food over and over again while he picks up the food to eat with his other hand.
