This is easily become a favorite place for the kids to drink their milk in the evening. Is it because it’s squishy? Or maybe Peanut is just copying his sister. Amazingly, they both stayed on the mat for much longer than expected.
Watch us grow!

We went to Safari Run this afternoon to celebrate Rowan’s 6th birthday.

Peanut had some cake but mostly wanted the fresh banana and whipped cream.

Maybe that’s what I’ll make for him on his 2nd birthday – banana and whipped cream pie.

After the lunch and cake, the kids had time in the arcade. Janie played the basketball game to earn tickets.

She also learned how to play air hockey.

Skee ball was fun but she needs work on her bowling skills.

We spent the day in Alameda today despite the pouring rain. We had Korean food for lunch and then went to Trader Joe’s for the week’s groceries.

This morning, Janie and her class walked together to the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts to watch The Velveteen Rabbit. They had enough tickets for one parent to also attend.

Dada went along but was demoted to #2 with Janie’s best buddy Sota there.

She really missed him while we were on vacation.

In the theater, she got a good view of the stage and enjoyed the dancing.

For lunch, she had a date with Dada at one of their favorite places, Chipotle, of course.

This morning, the kids woke up at a normal time. Janie went to school and Mirian came to hang out with Peanut. The last bit of Hawaii that was left over was the one Spam musubi that was saved for Janie’s breakfast.

After the pool, we all went out to the ocean one last time. Peanut was so happy to be floating in the waves again.

Janie also learned how to float today so she held Dada’s hand and floated with him like a pair of sea otters.

After the beach, the girls got ice cream. Janie really deserved this treat after conquering her fear of the big slide and learning how to float.

Aaaaah…so happy.

Today was the perfect day to hang out at Trevor’s house. It was raining really hard pretty much all afternoon and evening.

The boys loved knocking down Uncle Kurt’s castles.

We also had dinner there and Dada got his favorite octopus poke.
Before heading back to the hotel, everyone broke out in a foam block war. Good times. Thanks to Auntie Yoon and Uncle Kurt for having us over and letting us use your washing machine!!

This morning, we went to Eggs ‘N Things for breakfast. Janie played Spot It while waiting for our table.

Peanut enjoyed using grown-up utensils for his watermelon this morning.

On our walk back to the hotel, it started to rain but that didn’t stop this little fella from walking!

On this trip, Janie went crazy over Spam musubi. She asked for “sushi” for breakfast almost every morning. Here, she’s eating a salmon onigiri and loved that too.
