We got up early this morning for our flight to Southern California. Our new house is so close to the airport that we don’t need to worry about parking the car anymore. We walked down to the bus stop to catch Bus 21.

It’s the same bus stop that Dada and Janie use to wait for their transbay bus on school days.

We were the only ones on the bus this morning and they didn’t make any additional stops. Got to the airport in 7 minutes!

The kids had a snack at the gate before boarding and Peanut did a nice job staying close by.

Janie watched Paw Patrol on the flight and Peanut tried out some baby apps on Mama’s iPad.

We had a pretty good flight with these two travelers.

Costco and Hip-Hop

On our way to class, we stopped at Costco to pick up groceries for the week. The kids were kept occupied with snacks. We put the glasses on Peanut since there would be so much to see there. He kept them on the whole time and even fell asleep in the car with them on our drive to dance class.

At hip-hop class, Janie did a somersault all on her own. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch it in time on this video.

Warm Day

We had a warm sunny day in Alameda so we hopped in the pool before lunch. Peanut was not a fan of the water today but it may have just been too close to his nap time.

Janie, on the other hand, had a fun time floating around and getting some swimming lesson’s from Dada on the kickboard. She also put her head underwater at least 5 times.

As soon as we got home and rinsed him off, he was passed out in turtle mode. Poor baby.

Meanwhile, Janie rode her scooter to Safeway with Dada and bought ingredients for our tasty burgers grilled in the patio.

Crab!!

This evening, Mama and Peanut picked up Dada and Janie from the ferry and then headed into town for dinner at Hang 10 Broiler. We ordered the dungeness crab and had to wear bibs because it was gonna be so messy.

They also have tasty garlic butter shrimp very similar to what we usually get in Hawaii. What a tasty dinner and a great way to kick off the weekend!

Southshore Center

After class, we went to Southshore Center to have lunch with Dada and Peanut. They were taking the bus from home and had some time to kill so we went to Starbucks to get a snack and drink for Janie. She worked up quite a thirst after her class.

Meanwhile, Peanut and Dada took Bus 21 but ended up going the wrong way. So, it took them a bit longer to arrive.

When the family was reunited, we had hamburgers for lunch and then the kids walked together hand in hand. So cute.

As a special reward for being so brave in class, we went to the ice cream shop to get Janie a scoop of cherry vanilla with sprinkles. Little brother benefited from her special treat too!

It was such as nice day to be outside.

Before heading home, we stopped at Petco to pick up snails and fish for Dada’s tank. The kids had fun watching the hamsters running around.

They also watched the birds in the cage too. Peanut is loving his new-found freedom of being out of the stroller.

Hudson’s Party

This afternoon, we drove to a park in Oakland to celebrate Hudson’s birthday. It was the first time we had both kids riding in the back in their new seats. It looks so spacious back there now.

Once we arrived, Janie found Henry playing under the tree picking flowers. She found a California poppy.

We put up out pop-up tent next to Henry’s and the kids played together rather nicely.

Janie asked to go outside this morning and she was out bright and early after breakfast. Of course, Peanut had to follow so out he went with a bucket of bubbles.

He’s getting really good at blowing bubbles lately and this is all he wants to do right now.

He also likes to follow his sister and Gavin around while they hunt for bugs.

For lunch, Dada picked up Chicken McNuggets and Janie shared hers with Gavin. They sat outside and ate together like two lifelong friends.
