We’re going to Hong Kong!! Janie wrote this on our message board this morning.

The first leg of the journey was from SFO (San Francisco) to NRT (Narita-Tokyo).

The kids were super excited but also had no idea where we were going.

Janie was also nice enough to share her rolling bag with her brother.

Our plane is ready for us!!

We had the kids set up with headphones and other toys to keep them busy.

Lunch was actually pretty good too. ANA served us Japanese curry, potato croquette, rice, cold udon, and tamago.

Peanut also practiced using chopsticks.

The media screen had lots of movies, cartoons, and video games too!

Thankfully, each kid took a nap on the 11-hour flight.

They did pretty well considering this was their first international flight.

Thursday

This afternoon, Mama picked up Janie early from school to take Peanut to swim class. After the class, we went to the tea shop for some smoothies.

Then we headed over to the ferry terminal to pick up Dada. The sun was setting and the kids had fun running around as we waited.

There’s Dada’s ferry!!

For dinner, we went to have Korean food and Janie worked on her math workbook while we waited for the food.

On our last stop, the kids had some good snuggles while Dada did some shopping.

Before Bed

After dinner, the kids took a shower and then watched a couple Moana videos.

Then they went downstairs for some milk before heading back upstairs to brush teeth and go to sleep.

Dim Sum and Rain

This morning we drove to SF for dim sum with Isla and Rowan.

Afterward, we took a walk around The Embarcadero and the kids had fun walking around in the puddles.

While we were having ice cream, it started to rain.

So, they all went out with their jackets, boots, and umbrellas for some rainy fun.

Alameda Outing

We spent the afternoon around Alameda today. After Janie’s swim lesson, we stopped at a tree lot to check out their trees.

Peanut found one that was just his size!

The trees were too expensive so we went next door to Rock Wall Winery for a snack and some games.

Peanut played his block guitar and sang for everyone there while Dada and Janie played with a giant Jenga set. The view of the city and sunset was also really nice.

The kids also played with a giant Connect Four game. Peanut is a determined little boy sometimes.

On the way back, we stopped at a local hardware store and found this year’s tree! It fit in the back of the minivan and smelled so good! Before heading home, we also went to Trader Joe’s where the kids got some water and snacks to go.

We’ve had to eat out a lot lately because of the kitchen remodel. For lunch, we had sushi.

For dinner, we had pizza and then the kids got a special treat afterward – smoothies!!

After Peanut’s swim lesson, we picked up Janie from school a little early and went out for smoothies.

We also picked up Chipotle for dinner at home. The kids did a great job following directions and holding hands on the walk back to the car.

Good thing it stopped raining just long enough for us to make this trip!

Halloween 2017

It’s Halloween and there was a parade and trick-or-treating at Peanut’s school. He brought his costume and shared it with his class.

Janie got picked up early from school so that she could join in on the festivities. She was Mama’s little helper and passed out stickers to all the kids.

Here are the Paw Patrol pups, ready for action! Peanut was Rubble and Janie was Everest.

This evening would be the kids’ first time trick-or-treating and buddies Henry and Hudson came over to join us! We had pizza together and then went out to get some candy!

Our neighborhood was filled with kids and lots of houses were giving out candy.

They had a blast! Alameda is a great place for these kids.
