Napa

We spent the day in Napa today. First stop was brunch at ad hoc. The last time we were here, Peanut was just a baby. Now he’s bigger and can enjoy their tasty food.

The kids started with some yummy pancakes and then had some of the fried chicken. Yum.

Take a look at the difference from 2015 and 2018. So cute!!

Dada and Janie wanted a part in the photo fun so they took one too.

We finished before Alice and Leela so we took a walk around the shops across the street.

We also stopped at Bouchon Bakery to pick up some yummy treats.

Next stop was Castello di Amarosa. We explored the castle for a bit and then went down into the tasting room.

We actually got a photo of all the kids together!

While the grown ups did some wine tasting, the kids were offered some grape juice out of a fancy bottle.

They had some picnic tables and breadstick crackers for the kids to keep themselves out of trouble.

On the way out, we saw some goats and piglets. What a fun place for everyone! Too bad it was too hot outside to stay out longer.

Ferry Ride!!

Our long weekend didn’t end when we got home from Clear Lake. This morning, Alice and Leela flew up and met us at the Ferry Terminal! We rode the ferry to San Francisco for a morning of fun.

We rode on the top of the ferry this time and had a 360 view of the Bay Bridge as we floated underneath it.

After lunch, we went to Gott’s for some ice cream and each of the kids got their own cup of soft serve and gummy bears on top!

Heading Home

It was time to pack up the minivan and head home. We took another family photo once we were all cleaned up.

The drive home took use through some winding roads but it was really pretty.

We ended up in Napa Valley for lunch and enjoyed some tasty stuff at Genova’s Delicatessen, one of Mama’s favorite places.

Clear Lake State Park: Day 2

On our second day, the weather was a bit milder so we were able to just hangout at the campsite for most of the day.

We found a local sandwich shop nearby, picked up some food, and had a picnic by the lake.

In the afternoon, we napped and hung out in the hammock. Mama actually did a little reading too.

The kids had fun just playing together in the tent and along the side of our site.

Clear Lake State Park: Day 1

We slept under the stars last night. It was warm enough to remove the fly from the top of the tent.

Our campsite is close to the lake beach but not really clean enough to play.

On our drive through the campground, we saw a family of deer nearby.

We spent the day hanging out, playing, and snacking. Peanut also kept up with his potty training.

Janie also showed Mama how good she was at playing Mancala. She kept winning and her little fingers move so quickly!

In the evening, we went into town for their July 4th celebration.

Unfortunately, we headed back to the campsite when the sun was going down and didn’t get to watch the fireworks that night. We were already in our sleeping bags by the time they went off in the distance.

Steak!

Daddy smoked a tomahawk steak today and the kids hung out on our new camping chairs to keep Dada company in the patio.

Here’s the finished steak!

Yummy!!!

After dinner, the kids took a shower and then we made cookies for dessert!

House Party

We went to Uncle Ian’s house today for dinner. All the kids sat together and Maya wanted to sit next to Peanut. She recently moved classes and hadn’t played with him in a while.

Dada and Uncle Jimmy smoked a brisket overnight and this was the moment they finally got to cut into it.

Looks great!

Meanwhile, Peanut and Maya had disappeared upstairs and they were found playing together with no one else around.

So cute!!

Peanut also ate his weight in watermelon this evening.

Blueberries

We had to go to the store afterschool and Mama didn’t pack any snacks. Luckily we were able to buy a a container of blueberries at the bakery and the kids finished the whole thing before we paid for the rest of the groceries.
