Watch us grow!
Today we went out for an early dinner in the warm weather and this kid was so happy to be outside.
We didn’t bother asking for a highchair and she did such a good job staying in one place.
She sat on the bench next to Daddy, wore Mommy’s hat, and enjoyed some of Daddy’s seasoned fries.
What a perfect end to a fun Saturday.
This morning we went to La Boulange for brunch and Janie ate up all of Daddy’s fruit.
It’s also Friends & Family Weekend at Gap and BR so we stopped at the Powell store to pick up some new digs for her. While we waited in line to pay, Janie kept browsing. I guess she was watching me go through the sale rack today.
She also rode the escalators with Daddy on our way out.
She also scored a yellow balloon from the nice lady behind the counter.
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade was going down Market Street so we stopped to listen to the marching bands.
We also stopped at Banana Republic and while Daddy was trying pants on she scribbled in her notebook for a bit.
What a fun morning! Now it’s time to get home for a nap.
I went out on a limb and gave Janie cereal with milk for the first time. I guess it isn’t much of a stretch considering she has been eating/drinking soup for quite some time.
I’m so glad we have that bib to catch all the spilled milk.
I guess it was pretty warm in the city today because Mirian dressed Janie in a sleeveless dress and her sunhat.
Here she is drinking her milk after library time this morning.
When I make Japanese curry, Daddy eats it with rice and Mommy eats it with spaghetti noodles. I gave Janie rice but she kept asking for my noodles. I should have known to give her noodles instead of rice.
I was packing up for our Saturday outing to the Farmer’s Market and Janie refused to climb into the stroller. Instead, she ran over to the door and pointed to the tricycle. So, I had to rethink my packing strategy and off we went!
The Farmer’s Market was like a brand-new place for her today with this new 360-view of her surroundings.
After doing some shopping, we went across the street for a little playtime. Unfortunately, everyone had the same idea and it was swarming with children and their adults.
Luckily, we found some space of our own and Janie got to go down the slide a couple times. She also went down on her butt all on her own today!
The swings were popular so we had to find just the right time to get her a turn.
Of course, she LOVED it and she was good enough to get out after I gave her a warning and counted to 10. I feared that I’d have to carry away a kicking-and-screaming kid but I didn’t! I was so proud.
As a reward, we went out to the big grassy field.
She got to run around to her heart’s content.
Back on Embarcadero, we went to the Starbucks to meet up with Daddy. While we waited, Janie pushed the tricycle around. What a gorgeous day!
It was such a sunny day that Janie borrowed Daddy’s sunglasses for a bit.
At lunch, Janie ate up almost all of Mommy’s capers. She seems to love pickled things as much as Mommy.
We also found out that this kid loves to crunch on ice cubes. This warm weather was the perfect day for this activity. I guess she can hang out at the Magical House and crunch ice cubes with Yai now.
When we got home, Janie was clearly tired and overdue for a nap but she resisted.
Lucky for us, there’s a Blue Clue’s episode about nap time and it worked like a charm.
Apparently, Elephant has also turned into a new pacifier for her too.
Sweet dreams, Little Janie!
Janie loves dipping and she especially loves chips and salsa. This particular salsa has a good kick to it and it doesn’t seem to bother her at all. She’s gonna be sharing spicy Indian food with Daddy very soon.
With the sun going down a little later everyday, we had enough daylight to go outside for a tea party.
This seems to be a really easy way to get her hydrated. She just can’t get enough water!
We’re a little late for Fat Tuesday but Janie got a good bit of Louisiana gumbo this evening for dinner.
Here she is asking for another helping.
This girl seems to love anything in soup form. Sssssluuuuurrrrrp!
She even knew how to sop up the bottom of the bowl with a piece of bread.
This evening as I was washing the dishes, this little girl climbed onto the dining room chair and helped herself to a whole apple and took a little bite.
So, on our way to dinner, she held it in her little hands and tried her very best to eat it.
I ended up having to cut off a wedge for her but she made a good dent into it.
