Janie has a runny nose and cough today. This was the photo and text I received from Mirian this afternoon:
“No happy. But she is fine.”

Luckily, she still has an appetite. She had no problems eating a bowl of Tom Kha Soup and some broccoli tonight.

Watch us grow!

This afternoon, we rode Caltrain down to Burlingame for dinner with Auntie and Uncle. On our way down, we were joined by lots of Giants fans leaving the game that had just finished. Luckily, we got to the station in time to board the train but there weren’t any seats. So we stayed in the bike car and sat on the floor.

Janie did a good job staying in one place and even got to stand up for a bit to look out the window.

When we arrived, uncle and auntie were waiting for us and Janie was happy to see them.

For dinner, we had pizza and Janie got some meatballs, pizza, and Daddy’s olives.

When she was done eating, she made some pretend calls to Auntie Jia across the table.

At the toy shop across the street, Janie played with a train set.

She also said “hello” to a certain spotted friend there.

We didn’t bring a stroller this evening and Janie did a good job holding a grown-up’s hand outside.

She also liked having her hands in her pockets the whole time.

Before heading back to the train station, we stopped for coffee and Janie read books with Uncle Jason.

At the train station, Janie sat on the bench and waited patiently for the train to arrive.

We had about 5 more minutes to spare so we got a quick family photo.

Here comes the train! It’s right on time!

On the ride home, she fell asleep sitting between Mommy and Daddy on the train.

Mommy ran this morning and ended up at the Ferry Building for breakfast. Janie got to run free while it wasn’t crowded yet.

The best part of being out early is that you get first dibs on the swings!!

Yippee!!!

When it was snack time, she ate a whole banana all by herself. Impressive.

She also had fresh green peas straight from the pod.

On our way home, the balloon man gave her a flower balloon. Wow!

What a pretty morning!

Janie and Mommy had Happy Hour at home this afternoon.

Hooray for chips and salsa!

Found these two like this in the morning before I went to work.

This was their interaction at dinner tonight.

The Giants played their first home game today. Janie got a glimpse of the crowd on our way to Safeway. Lots of orange and black out there!

Then while Daddy was on a conference call, Janie and Mommy hid in the bedroom with the iPad.

Happy Tuesday!!

One of Janie’s favorite things to do at home is trying on Mommy and Daddy’s shoes. This evening, she found an old pair of Mommy’s red heels and was able to walk around in them.

I guess lasagna tastes better when you’re wearing fancy shoes.

Saturday mornings are fun – especially when you can go to the Farmer’s Market! Janie enjoyed some classical music by the bay while Mommy was picking up food.

Janie ate up all of Daddy’s capers.
Before lunch, we took her to the playground for some sliding and swinging.

Here she is having lunch later that morning.

She also got some of Mommy and Daddy’s ice cream on the way home.

She fell asleep on our way home so Mommy and Daddy stopped for some time quiet time in the sun.

After a good hour-and-a-half nap, she woke up refreshed.

Janie got a ride on Daddy’s shoulders for most of the way. Weeeeee!

She also got to run around the park for a bit and practiced jumping off the cement blocks.

That was a fun Saturday morning!!
Dada said he would be home late so Janie went out for dinner with Mommy. She loved the beans and even said “black beans” all on her own.
We also watched a little basketball while we were there.
Here she is hamming-it-up for the camera.
Silly girl also thought it was fun to plug her ears.
Dada arrived eventually and we hung out a bit longer so he could get a bite to eat too.
Early this morning at 2am, Janie woke up and called out “Mama!” She did it a couple times and then went back to sleep. A few minutes later, she woke up crying and screaming “MAMA!” I thought it would stop after a couple minutes but it kept going. All I heard for the next hour was “Mama! Mama! Mamaaaaaaa!” Once in a while it would be a calm “Mama” and sometimes “Mama, GG, Mama, up, up”. Eventually, we gave in and I ended up having her sleep on the sofa with me.

She finally fell asleep at about 3:30 am and this is how I found her this morning.

When Mirian arrived at 8:15am, she was still sleeping. In fact, she slept until 9am! She woke up with rosy cheeks, a puffy face, and a smile.

Here she is having her morning milk. I sure hope tonight is better.
