Wednesday afternoon

Janie had ramen for lunch and loved it.

20140424-103750.jpgShe said hello to Mr. Ocean but was still not sure of him. There weren’t any tears but she still didn’t touch the water.
20140425-055622.jpgJanie also tried out the pool and that was a hit – especially the 1/2-foot wading area.

Downtown

IMG_2575

Janie fell asleep in the stroller on our way back through town from the doctor’s office.  So, Mommy stopped downtown to do a little shopping while she napped.  Once she woke up, she did a little browsing herself before lunch.

For lunch, we ate at the mall.  She loves Chipotle just like her Daddy.

IMG_2590

For our bathroom break, we used the family lounge in the mall and the family restroom is complete with Janie-sized toilet and sink right next to the grown-up ones.  She even tried out the toilet today.  Here she is washing her hands at her sink.  Oh how I wish I had one of these at home!

In the lounge, there were some wall toys and she went straight for them.  Mommy got a little rest break while Janie got to play for a bit.

Here we are on our way home in the afternoon.  What a fun-filled day!

24-month visit

Janie went to see the doctor today. We took public transportation there for the fun of it. Janie really enjoyed riding the train, watching them go by as we waited for our next train, and looking out the window.

When we got there, the nurse took us to a room first instead of going straight to the scale.

IMG_2567

Now that she’s older and bigger, we undressed her in the exam room and she walked herself into the exam room for the weighing and measuring.

IMG_2568

She barely fits the scale platform now.

Here are the stats:

Weight:  28 lbs 6 oz. (73rd percentile)

Height: 34.25 inches (66th percentile)

IMG_2569

The doctor was impressed by her growth and said she looked great.

IMG_2570

Janie was a little timid around the doctor but warmed up quickly when she received her very first lollipop.  Dr. Kaplan told her that only big kids get lollipops. That girl demolished it while the doc was doing her examination.  I can’t believe she’s a full-fledged kid now.

IMG_2574

Here she is waiting for the train on our way back.  She lucked out on not getting any shots today but she’ll be getting one next Wednesday when we get back from our trip.

Birthday Lunch

IMG_2499

We celebrated Janie’s birthday with lunch at Hillstone. This is her old lady smile.  It looks like she’s saying, “hello, they made me come”.

IMG_2478

She enjoyed smoked salmon, fries, crackers, ribs, and peas.

IMG_2496

The best part was the birthday ice cream!

IMG_2529

They brought out a scoop of ice cream with chocolate sauce on top.  They also put two candles on top for her.

Too bad after all our practicing, she didn’t want to blow out the candles.

IMG_2482

Yummy!  Unlike yesterday, she didn’t have to beg anyone for THIS ice cream!

Brunch Date

IMG_2374

Janie had a brunch date at the Ferry Plaza with her gal pals Sophie and Vivian this morning.

IMG_2362

Cheers to Vivian!

Cheers to Sophie!

IMG_2365

It was a beautiful SF morning to be outside.

IMG_2368

It was also a good day for ice cream.  Check out these two toddlers begging their daddies for more.

The ice cream cone is pretty yummy too.

banquette with a view

IMG_2306

Janie went out to eat with Mommy and Daddy tonight.  The restaurant didn’t have highchairs but they placed us in a nice corner banquette by the window.  Perfect!  Janie got a good view of the trains outside and had great time.

IMG_2301

She did a great job staying put and didn’t cause any trouble.

IMG_2307

Of course, she had to have some miso soup and had a giant soup tummy afterward.

Morning with Daddy

IMG_2262

This morning Karla had to go to the doctor so Daddy stayed home with her in the morning.  This kid must really be sick because she ate only one bite of her oatmeal and then asked for oranges and didn’t eat any.  Instead, she just sat there and counted her orange slices.

IMG_2261

After walking to the coffee shop, Daddy also had a couple conference calls and this is what she did to stay quiet and out of trouble.
