Scooter and Seafood

IMG_3671

In the afternoon, Janie rode her scooter to Hog Island Oyster Co.

IMG_3672

It took a really long time for us to get there at her pace and luckily she was willing to take a break after about 20 minutes of scooting.

IMG_3675

It was a beautiful day to be outside.

IMG_3681

Here’s Janie waiting to be seated.

IMG_3702

She tried all kinds of seafood.  She had some smoked sturgeon from Mommy’s oyster fork.

IMG_3704

She also tried baby octopus for the first time.

IMG_3705

She loved the seafood stew (of course!) because it was a “SOUP!”

IMG_3709

Ah…what a tasty dinner.  Time to burn it all off with a scooter ride home!

Morning Stroll

IMG_3654

We took our usual morning walk to the Farmer’s Market today.  Janie wanted to walk some of it so we came up with a game called “hold the orange”.  She holds onto the orange ring at the end of the links and gets to walk next to the stroller while Mommy pushes.  Worked for a good part of the walk.

IMG_3660

Janie ate all of Mommy’s leftover pickled onions and capers.

IMG_3662

She also got a free tulip from a nice lady.

warm outside

IMG_3598

We had a very warm day in SF today so we had dinner outside.  Janie rode her tricycle to the restaurant this evening.

IMG_3606

For dinner, she had clam chowder.  Check out the mess!

IMG_3609 IMG_3610

While Mommy and Daddy finished dinner, she practiced her animal sounds and tried to name all the letters she could.

IMG_3611

She also entertained herself with a bag of bracelets, necklaces, and rings.  It’s part of Mommy’s old work stash of toys.

Day with Mommy

IMG_3579

Mommy had an extra day off today and Janie’s first activity of the day was to go back to the doctor for her immunizations.

IMG_3582

She got to play in the waiting room a bit.

IMG_3583

IMG_3584

She cried out just a little bit when she got her shot but it didn’t last long.

IMG_3588

It also helped that she got a cool bandaid “sticker” on her leg after.

IMG_3587

After the doctor’s office, we stopped for lunch and grocery shopping.  Janie loved eating her chicken from a cup.

IMG_3591

It was a hot day outside so Janie got her first bubble bath.  She was scared of them at first because she couldn’t see the water anymore but got over it pretty quickly when she realized she could scoop it like sand.

heading home

IMG_3559

On the shuttle, Janie was too tired to look out the window.

IMG_3562

In fact, she fell asleep sitting up…just like her mommy tends to do.

IMG_3566

At the airport, we had some lunch.  Janie got more noodles and some veggies too!

IMG_3567

Keenan is riding on the same plane again.  Fun!

IMG_3568

Janie did a great job on the flight home.  Having her own seat really helped.

IMG_3569

IMG_3574

Unfortunately, she had a diaper malfunction and a little tummy trouble mid-way through the flight so we had to change her clothes.  Luckily, she was fine for the last couple hours and even took a nice long nap too.

last morning

IMG_3531

We’re going home today but we had a couple hours before our pick-up time.  For breakfast, we picked up a bowl of udon at Lawson Station and ate next to Mr. Ocean.

Janie just loves noodles AND soup.  What a perfect meal for her.

IMG_3545

Before heading out to the shuttle waiting area, Janie got one last splash in the fountain.  We’re gonna miss this fun place.

IMG_3548

We’re all packed up and ready to go!

IMG_3549

This kid really enjoyed going barefoot everywhere.  Just minutes after putting on her sandals, they came right back off.

IMG_3558

Until next time, Mr. Ocean and Hawaii!  We’ll see you again soon!!

Italian Dinner

IMG_3473

For dinner, we went to an Italian restaurant with Andrew and Auntie Holly.

IMG_3670

They shared a kids spaghetti and meatballs dish and it was like a scene out of Lady and the Tramp.  I loved watching their different styles of eating noodles.  Andrew went straight for a big forkful of noodles and Janie slurped them one at a time.

IMG_3496

Luckily dinner arrived before Janie got too sleepy and she fell asleep in the stroller in no time.

One more afternoon

IMG_3438

For our last afternoon in Hawaii, Janie had another dip in the pool and also played in the sand and water one more time at the beach.

IMG_3450

IMG_3446

IMG_3444

When she was all done, she washed her feet in the showers at the pool and has become an expert at rinsing her feet without getting scared.

IMG_3436

She and Auntie Krissy shared the spray together.

IMG_3417

Then she hung out with Auntie Krissy at the lawn.  The hotel beach towels are pretty comfy!

IMG_3471

The cabana chairs are super comfy too.  This kid knows these reserved ones have the squishy cushions on them.

IMG_3428

Janie also went out to the sidewalk to see what everyone was staring at.

She had just seen them in the aquarium and now was seeing them in the ocean!!  Lucky girl!!

Janie also had fun playing with the hammock.

IMG_3560

Do we really have to go home tomorrow?!
