Watch us grow!
This evening, we had street food for dinner and Janie loved the garlic noodles and coconut chicken.
We also had lots of giggles this evening.
After dinner, we went to Costco to pick up some milk. She loves having her backpack in the shopping cart with her.
This kid loves Mommy’s linguine and clams. She even slurped up the clams like a pro. She had three tonight and it’s amazing that she’s not grossed out by the texture of the clams at all.
Mirian had a doctor’s appointment today so Mommy stayed home today.
In the morning, we had to pick up milk and got some breakfast on the way home.
Later in the morning, Janie got to color and draw on a giant sheet of paper.
She did a really good job covering the whole thing. Now it’s up on our wall for everyone to see.
Later in the evening, she decided to have naptime on the floor with her friends. She’s really into covering them with the blanket and “reading” to them. She even says “good night” in this video.
The drive back to SF was a smooth one. Janie was on her best behavior and we made a few stops to break up the trip a bit. Here she is watching Baby Einstein videos with a snack.
We also stopped at the Gilroy Outlets and Janie helped Daddy pick out some new work shoes.
She had fun shopping on foot and was intrigued by the mannequins in the store.
She really liked the jewelry display at Banana Republic and wanted to try on all of the bracelets.
Lucikly, I was able to distract her enough to transition back out of the store without having a meltdown or having to purchase something.
After shopping, Daddy had to finish up some work at the nearby Starbucks, so Janie got a special treat a couple doors down at the Baskin-Robbins. This pineapple coconut ice cream was perfect – the label also said that there was no added sugar. This kid was so happy.
Back at Starbucks, we sat down at a table and Janie worked on her drawing. Today when I asked her “What is that, KK?” She actually replied by saying “ocean”. Wow!
This is officially her first real drawing!
I think she understood how proud I was of her and even smiled for a picture with her drawing.
For dinner, we found a Mexican restaurant nearby. Janie must have been hungry because she ate almost all of Mommy’s beans and rice.
She also enjoyed the mariachi band playing behind her. Between bites, she would turn around to watch and listen.
When we got home, she was sleeping and managed to fall back asleep very quickly after a quick diaper change, milk, and brushing her teeth.
Janie really enjoyed the rice crackers they gave out after Sunday service.
Ankong helped clean her up when she was all done.
After the viewing, we stopped at Yai and Ta’s house. Janie got to play with Ta’s guitar for a bit. Somehow she knows where her left hand is supposed to go on the neck.
For dinner, we had Chinese food and the family ordered soup just for her. Yum!
Janie took a road trip down to Southern California today and spent a lot of time in the car seat. Luckily it’s super comfy and allows her to see the road ahead.
She also sleeps quite well in the seat too. Here she is with GG and Big GG. She managed to take a 90-minute nap.
This is what she looked like when she was done. Still pretty groggy and stone-faced. I think she was just ready to get out of the car.
We didmake a couple stops. This one was half-way there and she got to run around a bit.
Convenience stores are so much fun. There’s so much to look at.
The fountain outside was cool but it was SO HOT outside.
We went straight to Rose Hills for the viewing service. We waited in the car for a bit while people were arriving.
Janie also got a big hug and an almond cookie from Ankong. So lucky.
For lunch, we headed down to Sausalito.
We all sat outside and Janie got to enjoy some tasty clam chowder, noodles, fries, and pickles.
She was also confused by this new little toy that Daddy was playing with. It took her a while to figure out it was a video camera staring at her.
Janie said “hi mama” to me this morning.
This is how she plays with GG nowadays – all the legs bundled together and then rubs them with one little finger.
Once we were done lounging around, she said, “mama, fruta”. So, that’s what she got – lots of fruit: one pluot, 8 grapes, and a banana.
