After Janie’s nap, we went out to the Embarcadero Center to get a snack. She had her first taste of unagi (eel) in a tasty little onigilly. (handwrapped brown rice snack). She loved it and wouldn’t share with Mommy.

Afterward, we went across the street to Market Bar to hang out in the sun with some more snacks.

She happily played with her toys and read Brown Bear to everyone.

Quiet Friday

It’s been a long week for everyone so we planned a quiet relaxing evening. It was also warm outside so we went to the courtyard to grill some chicken and have a tea party with actual water. Janie loved it. She even served tea to some of our neighbors who were also down there.

When the chicken was done, we went back upstairs to eat and Janie got her first drumstick.

It took a little while for her to figure out how to eat it the right way but she got it and had a good time with it.

Pout Pout Fish

I thought this would fade after a while but Janie still has a hard time with Mommy leaving for work in the morning. This morning as I was washing dishes, she said, “Mama, no Mimi.” I told her, “No, Mama has to go to work.” She didn’t respond and just walked away. Later in this morning, she was set-up at the table coloring as I was packing up to leave. As soon she heard the sound of my keys, she began to pout. Then she had a full-on wail. This is what she looked like as I left.

Daddy said this went on for another 10 minutes before she asked to go to bed. She took a little pout pout nap, then had a book read to her, and was ready for her milk.

Once that was all done, she was back to normal. She even did a little dancing for Daddy. They had a good time until Mirian arrived a 10 after her doctor’s appointment. And then the crying and pouting started all over again. *sigh*

Janie is still a hobbit and insisted on having a second dinner when Mommy and Daddy finally got to eat dinner.

When she lounged in bed watching Sesame Street for a bit.

Downtown Afternoon

In the afternoon, Auntie Jia and Uncle Jason came over. We rode the bus to Chinatown and Janie got to ride on Daddy’s back for part of the way.

We stopped at the bakery for some snacks and Janie picked out these sesame cookies.

We stopped at a tea shop to pick up something to drink and then enjoyed our snacks and tea on the sidewalk. Janie found a fun little obstacle course and went around and around saying “circle”.

We walked down Grant Street to Union Square and Janie got another ride.

What a funny face.

At St. Mary’s Square, we stopped for a little playground time.

This slide was fast and fun!

At Crate and Barrel, Janie lounged on one of the couches on display. Aaah…

We then took her to the Disney Store where she saw lots of Elsa and Anna dolls.

The top floor had a coloring area.

“Look what I colored!”

We also found a sign that we should probably have in our house.

At the Apple Store, Janie played with the iPads on display.

Then she had Ramen for dinner.

She always makes noodles look so yummy.

Then for the third time this weekend, Janie got to ride the train again on the way home.

Mommy was at a class today and got out a little early. So, Janie got a train ride down to the Ferry Building to meet up with Daddy for snacks in the sunshine. The short Muni was such a treat for her.

We sat out on the patio where it was nice and warm. Janie borrowed Mommy’s hat for a little shade.

We also took out the little purse of sea animals that Mommy bought at the Waikiki Aquarium back in April. She got to play with them for the first time this evening and it was such a hit.
