Saturday morning started with a big bowl of blueberry yogurt.

Then she did some drawing with her big box of markers.

Janie had her very own fish taco this evening.

Looks tasty!

After dinner, she spent some time with Alice on FaceTime.

Janie loved the steak that Daddy cooked tonight and loved the corn-on-the-cob even more.

She also sat next to Uncle Victor, who joined us for dinner this evening. They got to do some catching-up.

This kid is serious about her yogurt-eating.

Daddy came home from work early today so Janie had a fun afternoon outside with him. First, they went for a tricycle ride (she was too lazy to pedal).

Then they stopped for a snack of fish and chips at Hi-Dive.

That was a fun way to start Labor Day Weekend!

We spent the greater part of today in Foster City and Redwood City. It started out with brunch at Chow Down and Janie was so excited to see Auntie Jia.

The next stop was Bed Bath & Beyond where Janie was free as a bird in the store and a little too energetic for my taste.

Then we went to Costco to buy some new tires for the car and Janie loved climbing and crawling along this metal bench.

We then took a walk around Auntie and Uncle’s neighborhood and Janie took a good nap in the stroller.

She woke up in time to check out this cute house that was for sale. No, we’re not moving – just taking a look to get an idea of the housing market.

For dinner, we had Korean tofu soup and Janie got to have her favorite purple rice, tofu, and some of Daddy’s kimchi fried rice.

Some of it was a little spicy but she was able to handle it like a champ.

Can you spot Janie?!

Janie is feeling much better this morning so we went out to the Farmers’ Market. It’s been at least a month since we had gone.

While we waited for Daddy to meet us there, Janie watched the ferry boats come and go.

She also listened to a band play out front. She had this interested yet confused look on her face.

For lunch, we went to Hog Island for some oysters and clam chowder. Janie still likes raw oysters and she loves to prepare them probably more than eat them.
Here’s a video of how serious she is with the mignonette and lemon juice.

She had some of our clam chowder and was pretty amused by the empty clams that she can open and close with her fingers.

It was high-tide on our ways home. She thought the waves and splashing water was fun to watch.

Riding Daddy’s shoulders was fun too!

At our next stop, Janie entertained herselft with Big GG. She is showing Big GG a drawing that Mommy made of him.

Crayons are always a hit at restaurants and her new Sesame Street pals were fun too.

We accidentally left Bert at home and she noticed right away and kept asking, “Where’s Bert?”

This is what Janie looked like this morning when I left for work. Her “table” was complete with her milk, cereal, book, and GG.

We were able to squeak in a quick trip to the zoo before it closed.

In just one hour, Janie still managed to see the giraffes, penguins, tigers, bears and flamingos!

She also said “hello” to the baby elephant statue.

Here she is on her very first trip to the SF Zoo. She has grown so much!

Then it was time to meet up with Auntie Jia and Uncle Jason, who were both in the city this afternoon. On the drive over to Japantown, Janie polished off the broccoli and pasta in her container. This kid really worked up an appetite!

She was so happy to see her auntie and uncle that evening. What a special treat!

For dinner, she got some California rolls and a taste of what everyone else was eating.

What a fun and exciting Saturday evening!

While Mommy was at work this morning, Janie got a papercut from one of her books. Daddy describes it as one of the perils of being a bookworm.

For breakfast, Daddy made Janie some eggs and they were delicious!

Then Janie spent the morning with Mirian and went to the carousel before her mid-day nap. By the time she woke up, Mommy was home again.
