making celery soup

IMG_0395

This afternoon involved a little more waterplay.  This time it was in the context of a tea party.  She asked for tomatoes to put in her soup but we didn’t have any.  I guess celery was a good substitute because not only did she enjoy playing with them, she ended up eating all the pieces too.

oyster outing

IMG_0386

Since it’s supposed to rain for the next three days starting tonight, we went out for a walk.  We walked down to the Ferry Plaza to buy some bread and then stopped at Hog Island Oyster Co. for lunch.  On our way there, Janie took a cat nap and woke up as we were standing in line to be seated.

It was actually pretty chilly outside so Janie loved having Daddy carry her so she could snuggle for warmth.

We were seated by the window where everyone waits in line so it was like Janie was on display.

IMG_0389

There was a girl waiting right in front of our table and was getting grossed out by Janie slurping the raw oysters one by one.  That was pretty funny.

She also ended up eating 8 of the clams out of Mommy’s clam chowder and 4 of the pickled veggies but refused the grilled cheese sandwich.  What a weird kid.

Thanksgiving Dinner

IMG_0377

Daddy and Mommy made a big turkey dinner and Yai brought up a Honeybaked ham.

IMG_0379

Janie loved the ham and turkey and also had lots of mashed potato, cranberry sauce, and sweet potato.

We also chatted with Cousin Alice on FaceTime!  They had already eaten dinner but we enjoyed their company anyway.

hungry

IMG_1397

This evening, Janie said, “Mama, KK hungry.”  When we asked what she wanted, she said “PIZZA!!” So that’s what we had.  She first had some minestrone soup.

Then she had 3 mini slices of pizza with all the toppings.  She really was hungry.

Lazy Saturday

IMG_0252

This morning everyone was up early so we walked down the street to a cafe nearby to have breakfast.

IMG_0253

It was still raining when we got home so we stayed in for the rest of the day.  We played some music and Janie had a little dance party.

IMG_0257

She then pretended to nap with Daddy and then actually fell asleep while she was reading her books.

Light-up Night 2014

IMG_0187

It’s the Friday before Thanksgiving so it was time to light up the Embarcadero Center and Hyatt Atrium.  After getting home, we hopped on Muni, and had a quick dinner at Osha.

Then we caught the mini Disney on Ice show at the skating rink.  Right afterward, they counted down and set off the fireworks.  She was looking forward to it but it was really loud.  Surprisingly, she didn’t cry or even ask to be held.  She just sat there frozen taking it all in.  I couldn’t tell if she was in shock or in awe of the show.

IMG_0210

After that, we walked to the Hyatt next door to wait for the lights to turn on.

IMG_0215

So pretty!!  It also snowed inside the atrium!  It was like Elsa was there to make it snow.

IMG_0230

That same night, Daddy arrived home and met us at the hotel for our reunion.

Janie was also reunited with her pal Cookie Monster, who had been on Daddy’s trip all week.

IMG_0248

At the end of the night, we took the train home and Janie loved running free inside the station.

What a fun way to kick-off the holiday season!!

Thai food

IMG_0122

When I asked Janie what she wanted for dinner, she said, “Soup, noodle, and chicken and uh…rice!” So, we went out for Thai food! When the waitress came by to take our order, she said the same exact thing to her.  Haha.
