Party Girl

IMG_9809

This evening, Mommy hosted the annual “holiday” party for her co-workers.  It was in the Clubhouse and Janie was such a good little hostess.  We brought down her table and chairs and she shared with her gal pals Vivian and Sophie.

These kids are getting so big now and had fun playing with each other this evening.

At one point, we almost had a dance party but there wasn’t much dancing happening here. Instead, they preferred running around chasing each other.

Janie got a little bit of chocolate cake and was in heaven.

Unfortunately, the evening ended with a little mishap with the patio door.  After numerous warnings not to play with the door, she closed one of them on her poor little thumb.  She came running to me crying and showing me her bruised thumb.  Auntie Mai checked out her finger and said it didn’t look broken…just a little cut and bruised.  We tried putting ice on it but Janie wasn’t having any of it.

Luckily, it’s not too bad and Janie settled down quickly.  She just sat there staring at her thumb the rest of the night. Whenever anyone came by to check on her, she didn’t say anything – instead, just showed them her thumb.

I guess you could say this was her first “party foul”.

Hobbit

IMG_2116

Mommy went out to get a haircut this morning so Daddy was on breakfast duty.  He sent this photo with the message “2nd breakfast for your hobbit”.

Later that morning, she sat at her table and colored for a bit.  She looks like such a big girl in this photo.  By the way, that purple balloon is the “balloon that won’t quit”.  We brought it home from Sophie’s birthday party 50 days ago and it’s still going strong!

Friday Night

IMG_2105

This evening, dinner was at SOMA StreatFood Park.  Janie loves to watch sports on the big screen.  She would sip her milk and say, “that’s basketball, right mama?”

IMG_2109

At Costco, we picked up some things for Mommy’s work party.  Janie was very entertained by the crumpled straw that she played with the entire time we were shopping.

IMG_2110

It’s amazing how a simple little object can be so fun.  Here she is giving Mommy shots in the arm.  She kept saying “I’m a doctor.”

Dinner Fun

IMG_2067

We went out to dinner this evening while we ran some errands.  Janie entertained herself with the chopsticks while we waited for the food to arrive.  She made a square all by herself.

She also made the letter H!

I don’t know why but watching her eat noodles makes me so happy.

She also learned how to squeeze edamame out of the shell. She really got a kick out of any time they jumped out of the shell.

Our last stop before heading home was the pet store.  This is one of her favorite places nowadays.

Mommy’s hospital visit

At noon, Janie got picked up early and went along for Mommy’s doctor’s appointment.  It was located at the brand-new UCSF hospital that is just minutes from home.

IMG_2039

We had lunch in their cafeteria where she gobbled up all the veggies that Mommy ordered.

In the waiting room, she drew in her handy-dandy notebook.  Luckily during the actually appointment, she fell asleep and got a good hour-long nap.

Sunday Night Dinner

IMG_2026

On Yai’s last night in SF, we took her to dinner at HIllstone.

IMG_2029

As we waited for our table, Janie showed us some of her twirling moves and then a nice lady brought her a cup of french fries to snack on.

Mommy forgot her bib so she wore the napkin around her neck and it worked out just fine.

IMG_2034

She also wanted some milk at the end of dinner (Mommy also forgot that) and ordered it herself when the waiter came around to our table.  Without prompting, she looked at the server and said, “nai-nai, please!”  Haha.  Funny girl.

Lunch and Naptime

IMG_2017

Just before Janie’s nap, we went out for lunch.  While we waited for the food, Janie read her counting book with Yai.

IMG_2019

She was also playing “teacher” with all of us and taught us our numbers 1-10.

IMG_2023

I caught this photo of her eating and reading at the same time.  Reminds me of stories I had heard of Daddy as a kid always reading and not wanting to eat.

IMG_2025

Once we got home, we had a grouchy little girl who was in need of  nap.  Daddy read a few books to her and then it was lights out minutes later.

Morning Outing

IMG_1984

This morning, we took Yai to the Farmer’s Market.  It was a nice and sunny day and we were there early enough to avoid the crowds.

IMG_1993

She got some water in a Peet’s coffee cup and felt like such a grown-up.

IMG_1992

We also got beignets and Janie got one all for herself.  It was a big sugary mess.

IMG_1995

On the walk home, Janie liked climbing on the concrete blocks and got a few pictures in front of the bridge with Yai.
