This morning, we took Yai and Ta to Mimi’s Cafe for an early breakfast. Janie had lots of pancake and sausage.

She also liked the cup they gave her.

Watch us grow!

For dinner, Janie went to a place in Pasadena to celebrate Hannah’s graduation. She saw her whole family there including Ankong and Ama.

For dinner, she ate all of Mama’s clams and then had fruit.

She also received some belated Christmas and birthday presents from Great Auntie Jeanie and Great Auntie Cheryl. So fun!

After dinner, we all met up at Cookies and Cream. Janie got to taste a bunch of different flavors and was so happy to collect some tiny tiny spoons.

The ice cream was yummy and she had lychee passionfruit ice cream to share.

What a fun evening with family!!

This morning, Janie went to Disneyland with Auntie Joy, Uncle Johnny, Alice, and Ta.

They all piled into the car together and got there in time for their opening.

It’s the first weekend of the Disneyland 60th Anniversary Celebration and Janie was lucky enough to go!

Once they got into the park, their first stop was the Baby Care Center for a potty break.

The kids got stickers for going potty!

The girls held hands as they walked through Tomorrowland and Alice went for a spin.

Here they are at the Jedi Training Academy.

The first ride they went on was the Finding Nemo Submarine ride. Right away, she spotted the seagulls outside saying, “Mine! Mine! Mine!”.

Initially, she was scared to go in the submarine but did much better this time around compared to when she was 8 months old and screaming when the lights went out.

The next ride was “It’s a Small World” and the girls scored a front-row seat on the boat.

Janie and Ta took a picture together in front of the Walt & Mickey statue at the hub of the park.

Janie got a snack around late morning while Alice took a cat nap.

When given the choice of the carousel or Dumbo, Janie chose to ride Dumbo.

After a 30-minute wait, they scored a blue Dumbo and Janie used the joystick to make it go up and down.

Janie had a fun time this morning at the “Happiest Place on Earth”. Thanks for taking me, Family!!!

This morning, Janie woke up hungry and had a big bowl of cereal with milk. It’s nice that Ta bought the same IKEA table that we have at home.

Janie also received some late birthday gifts. Ta gave her some Nemo figurines: Nemo, Dory, and Squirt!

Cousin Alice also came over this morning and was so excited to see her.

Their reunion hug was a little forced but they’ll warm up to each other in no time.

They brought her a present too! Janie got a chef’s coat, hat, and some utensils! Perfect!!

This evening, we walked to Chipotle for dinner. It’s funny how Janie mashes down her rice before eating it – just like Dada.

She had a good meal and had lots of fluids afterward. She is well on her way to feeling better.

Then we stopped at the Apple Store to talk to the Apple Care guy for Dada’s phone. We waited on the glass bridge to get a big view of downstairs.

On the walk home, we stopped for dessert because Mama needed to rest a little.

Janie got to have some of Mama’s ice cream sandwich and made a big yummy mess.

There was a Giants game tonight so we walked away from our neighborhood toward the mall. Daddy picked up dinner while Janie took a potty break and then met up in the food court.

She loved the rice, vermicelli noodles, pork, and veggies. She especially liked dipping everything in the fish sauce.

On our way home, we walked through Bloomingdale’s and she liked their goldfish display at the entrance.

We also stopped at City Target to pick up a few things and she helped carry (more like drag) our stuff around in the basket. Looks like she’s feeling much better tonight. Still coughing but had a great appetite and lots of energy for this outing.

We had leftovers today – Japanese curry!

She especially likes the red pickles in her rice. Look at this monster eat!

Mama had to work late today so Janie stayed home with Dada. It started out with breakfast while Daddy checked emails. She was in the middle of saying “Hi Mama!” in this picture.
Then she quietly watched Winnie the Pooh while he was on a call.

Later they went to the mall for snack and lunch.

They shared noodles and baos for lunch and Janie was bossing Daddy around with the chopsticks. Looks like she had a good time today.

This afternoon, we drove down to Redwood City to watch Auntie Karen play taiko at the Relay For Life Event. The kids had a great time watching and listening to the drumming.

After the performance, we got the Strider out and Janie followed Sophie around on hers. She’s had a lot more time and practice with hers and zooms around so fast!

Janie tried her best to keep up but this was only her first time outside with her bike.

It’s gonna take at least another month or two before Janie can even come close to keeping up.

Daddy also took the bike for a test ride.

The event was at Sequoia High School and the kids wandered onto the football field for a little running and hijinks. Look at those two go!

They also tried out the tackle sleds.

Vivian gave it a try too!

After all that activity, the kids were ready for snack. Janie shared her carrots and celery with Vivian.

Auntie Karen served up some tasty inari and Spam musubi too. Thanks Auntie!

Later that evening, we went back to Auntie Jia and Uncle Jason’s house. They live only 3 minutes from the high school!

We later went to dinner with them to a Japanese restaurant and Janie ate lots of soup, edamame, chicken, and rice.

We had soba and salmon for dinner tonight and Janie got to practice using chopsticks. She uses the poke and scoop method right now but it seems to work.
