It’s not everyday that Janie let’s Mama do her hair nowadays. For soccer practice, she had two braids and looked so cute!
Sunday Outings
Today we went to the outlets to buy both kids some new shoes.
We also took Peanut out for a haircut. We can see his ears again!
They also picked Chipotle for dinner.
Haircut
Peanut was in dire need of a haircut but unfortunately it did not come out as nicely as it usually does. Oh well, he’ll be back to Bruce Lee status again in no time!
2nd Grade Photo
Janie’s 2nd grade school photo came back today and they came out well! She did her hair in the morning all by herself too!
Janie’s morning
On Thursdays, Janie has science lab in the morning and this is what her teacher posted on the screen. It really shows how much her teacher cares for her students.
Also, here is where Janie stores her pencil during the school day. She obviously sees what Mama does with her work pen.
Goggle Hair
This is Peanut’s pre-swim look – completed with goggle hair and seaweed face.
Back to the Usual
The kids are enjoying their home and neighborhood again. When Peanut walked into the house yesterday, he said “I remember this place.”
The neighborhood kids were also happy to see them back and it was warm enough to have a watergun fight.
We had lunch at Chipotle and then they were back to their usual hijinks, including a little incident with a planter box that gave him a bandaid on his eyebrow.
Peanut’s 4th Birthday
It’s Peanut’s 4th birthday and his day started with a giant breakfast with Dada and Janie.
At school, Peanut brought a book to share and the Miss Summer read it to the class.
After school, we took him to Southshore for a long-overdue haircut.
So handsome!
When we asked what he wanted for this birthday, Peanut said “I want a basket.” After some thought, I remembered that Janie got to go to Daiso with Ankong to pick out whatever she wanted for her birthday. Apparently that made quite an impression on him and he wanted to do the same for his.
So we walked around the store with his basket and did a little shopping.
Then we asked what he wanted for his birthday dinner, he said “SPAGHETTI!!” So we went to Trabocco…just as we did last year for his 3rd birthday.
Back at home, we gave him a scoop of mint chip ice cream with a candle.
I’d say he had a pretty good birthday. Happy 4th, Peanut!!! Love you!
Glasses
Peanut found his glasses, put them on, and said “I’m wearing goggles!”
X-ray
Janie’s foot hadn’t gotten significantly better today so her doctor ordered an X-ray to rule out a fracture. Mama left work early, picked her up from Yu Ying, and brought her back to work for an X-ray.
Here’s the image that was taken and there was no fracture (near the arrow). Phew, what a relief. I guess it’s just a bad sprain that will heal on its own this week.
