Friday afternoons are so much fun. Today, Gavin and Collin were outside and the kids all played soccer together.
Peanut also played with his trains. After dinner and bath time, the kids made a clubhouse near the front door and Dada joined in on the fun too.
Mama asked him to “stop the ball” and immediately went into this pose. We are so happy that he’s actually learning stuff in soccer class at school.
Today’s the last day of the Winter Soccer Season and we are all relieved. After two seasons, Janie is still struggling to stick with the group. You can see her on the far left wandering away from the rest of the kids and coaches.
Peanut has been a good spectator and had to stay in the stroller the whole time today. The grass was way too wet from the rain last night.
Luckily, they did Janie’s favorite drill where she had to run through cones and kick the ball into the goal.
Hopefully we’ll be able to find another activity (or a different soccer class) that she’ll enjoy in Alameda.
Peanut got to run free during Janie’s soccer practice and he had a fun time playing with all the soccer balls.
He got pretty good at dribbling too!
With a long break due to rain cancelations and the holidays, getting back into soccer was really hard for Janie today. A sweet guy (one of the younger coaches) even tried to give her a little extra encouragement the whole time but she wasn’t having any of it. She ended up in tears at the end of the 50 minutes and said “Mama, soccer is no fun”. *sigh*
Also, check out the fog rolling in over the field! And our little girl is the one in white shorts in the middle of the crowd staring right at me with her I-don’t-want-to-do-this glare.

This afternoon, Mirian took Peanut and Andrea to the library for a special soccer program.
It’s a good thing he was wearing his new Chucks! Thanks, Auntie Teresa for handing them down to us!
Peanut played with tiny soccer balls and they had goals all lined up along the back wall.
Today was Janie’s last day of soccer for the fall season and she did better this week compared to the last.
After soccer, we stopped at the playground to let Peanut stretch his legs and play after being strapped in the stroller the whole time. Look how happy he is to be out and about.

It was also fun to watch Janie climbing like a little monkey. She’s gotten a lot stronger since our last visit to this playground.
It’s the 6th week of soccer and Janie was ready to go today.
She did a much better job staying with the group and did lots of running and kicking.
Little Guy came along to watch this morning.
Of course, Peanut also came along too and did some doodling to pass the time.

On the way home, we stopped at the playground and the kids actually played together this time around.
It’s nice that Peanut is far more mobile and stable so that he can enjoy some of the riding toys.
