This little girl loved having breakfast at her table with Big GG today.

President Obama was in SF today so the commute back into the city tonight was horrible. So, Janie and Mommy stayed in the East Bay for a little shopping while the traffic died down a bit. We spent most of the time at IKEA where Janie had a fun time in the Children’s Area.

She also took the liberty of trying out all of the beds.

She really liked the canopy bed. Too bad we don’t have room for such a thing.

We were planning to purchase this $20 set of table and 2 chairs. Janie thought it would be prudent to try it out first.

For a snack/dinner, we shared Swedish meatballs, mashed potato, and lingonberry sauce. Janie loves meatballs so it was perfect.

She also appreciated the kid-level rail on the stairs.

Before heading home, we also stopped at Target. Luckily she was still in the mood for more shopping and enjoyed riding in the shopping cart.

Daddy had to work late so Mommy and Janie went out for Thai food. She loved the broccoli and soup that we ordered.

She also recently learned how to twirl noodles on her fork and this really came in handy tonight.

This morning, Janie was in our bed watching Blue’s Clues while Daddy was on a call. When Mirian and Karla arrived, the two girls watched it together.

Daddy also went out to buy them all a special treat for breakfast. Janie got hotcakes and sausage today!

Later, they went to the library in the afternoon to read some books.

After Mommy’s morning run, we stopped at the coffee shop for a waffle. It came out hot and crispy and Janie was so excited to hold it all on her own.

She got a few bites in and was so happy. “Yummy, Mama!”

Luckily she was nice enough to share it with Mama.

Janie really likes baseball for some reason. This evening at dinner, she had a front-row seat in front of the big screen while the Dodgers were playing.

I couldn’t tell which she enjoyed more, the noodles or the baseball game.

I think the noodles won by a slim margin.

Daddy was off work a little late tonight and we decided to go to a nice Japanese restaurant for dinner on the way home from Happy Hour.

Janie was so good sitting in her highchair at the robata bar, coloring in her book, and slurping her miso soup while Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a nice fancy dinner.

She also ate plenty of the mushrooms, risotto, and scallops that we ordered.

We were so proud of our little diner. It pays to train them early!

By the end of dinner, she was looking a little tired and was consoling GG with “it’s ok”. Luckily we brought the stroller because she slept through the whole walk home. We didn’t get home until 10:30.

Janie had a big Thai dinner with her family today. Yai ordered her favorite Thom Kha soup.

She also watched the fish in the big tank in the front. Cousin Alice likes fish too.

This morning, Janie went on lots of outings with Yai and Ta. Mommy and Daddy weren’t coming back until after lunch.

First stop was the mall. They like to walk Cerritos Mall before it opens.

She visited the pet store where Alice likes to browse the puppy aisle.

They have riding toys there too!
The next stop was McDonald’s, Yai and Ta’s usual hangout.

She got some hotcakes and eggs for breakfast. What a treat!

Then she used a napkin to change Big GG’s diaper.

By the time Mommy and Daddy were home, it was time for a nap and she went out so quickly. It must have been a fun-filled morning.

It’s just another typical afternoon at home – coloring on the floor;

playing with Mommy’s shoes, GG, and the broom while Mommy makes dinner;

and of course, dinner! Janie had chicken tikka masala and basmati rice this evening. Yum.
