Janie came home with a new toy that she made in Toyology (Science) Class today. She learned about levers today.
Celebrating Innovation
Janie had a special event at her school this evening. To kick it off, she sang 3 songs with her fellow Kindergarteners and the 1st graders.
She was really into it and did a great job singing and doing all the hand motions.
After the performance, we went around to some classrooms to learn about different innovators such as Eli Whitney and Jane Goodall. The 5th graders were each assigned an innovator, dressed up like the person, and gave us lots of fun facts about them.
Wild Things
Janie had another “Wild Things” assembly. Today, she saw an American crocodile, barn owl, opossum, monkey, and boa constrictor. She also touched the snake at the end!!!
Robot
Janie has Science Toyology every Thursday afternoon and come home with a cool robot/toy each week. She learns about different concepts while building something of her own.

Today’s was a funny one that was also battery powered!
Science Kit
Dada bought Janie a Science Kit for Christmas and they opened it up today while Peanut was napping.
She learned about surface tension today by placing single drops of water on different coins.
Exploratorium
After soccer, we walked down The Embarcadero to pick up some fruit from the Farmer’s Market and then visited The Exploratorium. Dada’s company has a membership. Score!

Outside, there were some cool exhibits including this bike wheel that makes the rope spin off the ground.
The light exhibits were pretty cool. Here is Peanut under all the prism lights. We now have a rainbow baby!

Peanut got to explore some of the areas and was surprisingly able to reach some of the exhibits. He was also very appreciative of all the wooden stools everywhere and used them to get from place to place.

Now that Janie is a bit older, this museum is starting to become a little more interesting to her. She was able to wave this wand back and forth to make a movie appear.

Daddy also got this slinky to walk on a treadmill. Neato!!
