Watch us grow!
I guess Big GG has to grow up too. He’s getting potty trained by the expert this evening. Love the waiting position of sitting on the stool with her hands on her hips. She was very encouraging and even said “Good job, Big GG. You went pee pee in the potty!”
This evening, Mommy and Janie had dinner together while Daddy was still at work.
After dinner, Janie “talked” to Auntie Jia on her pretend phone.
During her bath, she made ice cream scoops for everybody.
She also said she had to poop but it was a false alarm. Silly girl!
We went out to dinner without Janie in a Pull-up this evening. She had been in underwear all day without an accident and she didn’t want to change into a Pull-up. So, Mommy took her to the bathroom as soon as we got to the restaurant and once more before we left and she peed both times while on the toilet. We are so proud of our big girl!
This afternoon, Janie was in underwear and Mirian said that she used the potty all day without any accidents. She even recorded it in the nanny log today.
This big girl is learning pretty quickly! She even went to Safeway and back with Mommy without an accident. Woohoo!
This morning, we were determined to get potty training started for real. So, we set Janie up with a pee pee station with books and even a little table for belongings. We also rolled up the rug and put her in underwear. It started out well and Janie was so excited to play this “game”. She sat on the potty just about every 15 minutes and for the first two hours, nothing was coming out. She kept having accidents in her underwear whenever she wasn’t sitting on the potty. Because she had wet three pairs of underwear with no success in the potty, we ended up having her just hang out at home half-dressed.
Finally (2-3 hours into the morning), she said, “uh oh, pee pee” and sat down on the potty. When she finished, she had to get my attention because at that point, I had almost given up. Then I looked to find pee in the potty and a proud little girl standing next to it. As a reward, she got a sticker on her potty chart and from then on, she totally got it. By noon, she had 4 stickers and she was doing it all on her own! By the way, this girl pees a lot! We’re glad that this morning was successful but I don’t think she’s anywhere near being ready to go out in public without a diaper. We’ll see how tomorrow goes.
Nothing came out but she did this on her own this morning.
Mommy gave in a bought Janie a potty today. She uses one at school so it seemed appropriate to continue the training at home. Mirian tried putting her on the toilet every hour this week but she there wasn’t a single tinkle out of her. So here we are with a potty in the livingroom. When it arrived in the mail today, she was so excited to see it.
She said, “white potty!” and pulled her pants down right away to sit down.
Too bad she didn’t have to go at that moment. At least she still enjoyed sitting on it.
On Wednesday afternoon, Janie’s teacher asked me to buy some pull-ups so they can help teach her to go pee pee in the toilet. Then on Thursday afternoon, Mirian asked me to buy her some underwear because she was going to train both her and Karla at the same time. So, since we were home today, we took a trip to Target to pick out some underwear. This is one of those milestones that I’ve dreaded because it’s going to require lots of trial and error and persistence.
At Target, they had a pretty big selection of girls’ underwear designs. Immediately, Janie pointed and said “ELMO!” I guess that will be the one we buy!
She seemed pretty excited about her choice and studied it carefully. She also had no idea what they were.
When we got home, we tried one on just to make sure I bought the right size. It’s a perfect fit!
Unfortunately it took only 2 hours before she had her first accident. Oh well…
