Mama was home sick but Mirian still came to help out with Peanut. It was fun seeing what they do together and how she manages both kids in the house.
Before lunch, they went to the library and Peanut had a bunch of toys and books to play with.
getting acquainted
This morning, we met up with Mirian. Peanut got to meet both her and Andrea (12 months old).
He hung out in Mirian’s lap for at least 45 minutes and Andrea played with his feet and socks.
Mama’s going back to work on January 21st (boooo…) and he’ll be spending a lot of time with these two. I hope it works out as well as it did with Janie.
Saying goodbye
Today was Mirian’s last day with us.
This afternoon when Mommy came home, we all said our goodbyes and everyone got hugs.
It has been wonderful having Mirian and Abby with us these last two years. We are definitely going to miss having her around.
Special Performance
The library had a special performance this morning instead of the usual story time today. They took a group photo with the performers and it looked like the girls were too busy looking at the big red lady.
Anniversary
This morning, Mirian came over after we had been away for a week. As soon as she heard her voice, she cried so loudly! It’s too bad because today marks Janie and Mirian’s one year anniversary together. Here she is later in the day. We’re still not sure why she cried this morning.

Janie and Mirian
I was home sick today so I got to watch Janie and Mirian play together. It’s very sweet. Janie squeals with delight when Mirian arrives in the morning and I always hear Mirian giggle when she’s feeding her breakfast. Janie loves her Tia Mirian.
Happy Giants Day!
The San Francisco Giants won the World Series on Sunday and today they held their big ticker-tape parade. While I was at work, Janie went to the parade with Mirian but they missed most of the good stuff. Luckily, while they were at the park in the afternoon, they got a front row view of the players returning to the ballpark on the team buses! Mirian’s husband had the day off and brought her daughter Karla to the neighborhood and they had a little playdate too.
Here’s Janie and Koa in front of AT&T Park this evening on our walk. This win is kinda special to us this year since she was born when the season started and they went all the way and won! It looks like Janie was their good luck charm. 😉
Karla
We drove Mirian home today and she invited us in to meet Little Carla, her very own 5-month-old. She’s only 2 weeks younger and weighs 17 lbs. Janie met her for the first time today and hopefully they can have some play dates soon! Janie was a little distracted in this photo.
Fun with her Nanny
Today I took the day off to take Janie to the doctor in the afternoon. Since we still have to pay Mirian for the day, I made arrangements for her to come in the morning to help me out. It was great to have 3 straight uninterrupted hours to do 3 loads of laundry, clean the kitchen, and put things away. In the meantime, I got the chance to see Mirian in action and she’s great. Janie really enjoys her company and stays pretty busy.
After her 11:00 am bottle, they went down to the Clubroom to play and I got a text from Mirian with a photo of Janie playing on her tummy. The text said, “she happy”. By the time they got back, it was 11:55 and time for her noon nap. Little Janie was asleep within minutes of being placed in her bed. Awesome.
