Janie is 23 weeks old today! This week she conquered her first cold and also rolled from her tummy to her back (from the right side) for the first time!
She’s also sitting up a little better now and has been experimenting with her balance. As you can see in this photo, it takes a lot of concentration. It gives her the same turtle face she used to make when she was trying to lift her head up during Tummy Time.
Janie is 21 weeks old today! This week she started moving her arms against gravity more and tries to hold her bottle when I feed her. She also got her immunizations again on Tuesday and weighed in at 18 lbs. 3 ounces. Wowza!
Look who’s 20 weeks old today! Wowzers. Where does the time go? At 18 pounds and 25.5 inches long, Janie is thriving. She had her first week with her new nanny, Mirian, and she’s dropped her 11 pm feed. This little baby slept 8-10 hours through the night for the past 3 nights!
She also had her first play date and it was so much fun. Boy, she’s had a busy week!
Janie is 19 weeks old today! She just finished her last week with Daddy, who has been on Paternity Leave for the past 4 weeks. She also started chatting more and is so close to rolling from her tummy to her back.
Today, Janie is 18 weeks old! This was a rough week for us since she was waking up every morning at 3 or 4 am. On Wednesday morning, she woke up at about 4:30 am and wouldn’t go back to sleep. We agreed to not feed her since we’re trying to teach her to sleep through the night without a snack and it was hard. She cried in her bed while I sat next to her for two straight hours until it was time to go to get ready for work. With some persistence on our part, she has gotten a bit back on schedule and hasn’t needed an early morning feeding all week. We also found a good iPhone app that plays the sound of crashing waves that helps her fall asleep when she wakes int he middle of the night.
We’ve got only one more week before Daddy goes back to work!
Janie is 17 weeks old today! Yippee! She just had her first week with Daddy on his own (for the past 3 days) and it’s been going well. Her sleep schedule is back to 7+ hours per night and she’s eating like a little piggy. I just finished my second week at work and it’s been going alright. It’s still hard leaving Janie each morning but I feel better knowing that Daddy will be with her.

And here she is in her tripod sitting position. What a funny little expression on her face! I love this kid.
Janie is 16 weeks old today! She’s been home with Daddy and Yai this week and it’s been a smooth transition so far. Her nighttime sleep schedule has been a little out of whack but it seems to be going back to normal. We weighed her today and it looks like she’s about 17 pounds now! It’s no wonder she’s wearing her 6-month clothes now.
Janie is 15 weeks old today and this is her imitation of Señor Fatty Duck Duck. This week also marks the end of my maternity leave. I’m going back to work full-time on Monday and I’m so heartbroken that my time with this little baby is almost over. However, I am happy that she’ll get 4 weeks of quality time with Daddy.
I’ve also packed away some of her 3-month clothes and took out her 6-month clothes from storage today. Next week is going to be full of big changes and I hope we all survive.
Now that we’ve past the 12-week mark, I thought I’d change our ducky pose. Janie is 13 weeks (and 3 months) old today and doing better in supported sitting so I moved them both to the couch. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to take this photo every Friday anymore since I’ll be going back to work soon but we’ll try to keep this up somehow.
In the meantime, here’s another photo of Janie with Señor Fatty Duck Duck. Since she’s sitting next to him now, she can get a good look at him and was enamored with his “feathers”. She couldn’t keep her eyes and hands off of him and at one point I found her nuzzling him with her face.
Look who’s 12 weeks old today! Time has really flown by and our little girl is 15 pounds now! Hooooo-we!
