Bath Expressions

IMG_0161

Peanut usually likes his bath…well at least at the beginning.  For some reason, his expression here reminds me of his cousin Toni.

Then he gradually realizes he’s all done and starts to cry.

IMG_0162

Waaaahhh!!!

IMG_0166

Then once he gets all bundled up again, he’s happy again.

I think he likes his new panda towel.

Dr. Kaplan also said that the jaundice had cleared so no blood work was needed.

He did, however, get a second Hep B shot in the thigh.  He was NOT happy.  What Mama is happy about is that his weight is high enough that he can start stretching out his feeds and we don’t have to wake him for night feedings anymore.  Woohoo!!

Friday Night

IMG_9293

This guy was so content in his rocker all bundled up and awake.

IMG_9294

That was until he pooped.

IMG_9295

It made him pretty upset – probably because it was so stinky.

IMG_9297

Meanwhile, big sister went to bed and looked so peaceful.

Eventually, Peanut also fell asleep and looked like such a little gentleman with his hand on his chest.

First Bath

IMG_9094

Now that his belly button and circumcision is all healed, it was time for Peanut to have his first real bath.

Janie was there to watch and help too!

IMG_9096

Just like his big sister, he cried for a lot of the bath but then had some moments of being calm in the water.

He also had his hair washed today and it made his hair nice a fluffy afterward.

Another Weigh-in

Today, Peanut had another appointment with his pediatrician.  He gained 11 ounces since last Thursday.  It’s a slower rate than the first week but he’s back to his birth weight plus a few more ounces.

8/3/15: 7 lbs, 12 oz (1st Weight Check), 31st percentile

Doctor said he looked vigorous and was happy with his weight gain and frequency of poops.  She also thought he still looked yellow but she’s going to give him another two weeks to see if he improves.  It’ll be his 1-month check-up and if he still looks yellow, she’ll order further tests to check his bilirubin levels and liver function.  She also checked his belly button and cleaned it up a bit to help it dry faster.

Regression?

https://youtu.be/jlbYyRhRuyg
We’ve had a rough week so far and this morning was the worst so far.  Janie was hard to wake up this morning and when she did, she kicked and screamed in bed the whole time.  She also couldn’t tell me what was wrong.  She refused to get out of bed and it was getting late.  So, I had to throw her over my shoulder and carry her down to the car kicking and screaming still.

She also continued to cry in the car all the way to school and was still crying when I dropped her off.

When I picked her up from school, she was happy again and said (on her own), “sorry Mama”.  She’s also been extra whiny, giving us a lot of baby talk, and hasn’t been following directions like she normally does.  When I asked her if she was a baby or a big girl today, she said, “baby”.  That’s the opposite of the last 6 months when she would correct me when I called her baby and always said, “I’m not a baby. I’m a big girl.”  Eek.  She must sense Baby Brother’s eminent arrival.

Puke City

IMG_6173

We were a minute from home this afternoon when Janie started to throw up.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t just a little bit but more like her entire lunch and the snack she had on the way home in the car.  Poor baby was so upset and cried.  Luckily we were close to home.

After a bath, she felt better and had quite an appetite for dinner later.

By the evening, everything was back to normal again.
