Janie has learned how to count to 10 in English, Spanish, Mandarin, and almost Thai. She watches us count our fingers but I thought she was just imitating and just reciting the numbers.
I thought it was too soon to be doing this but she somehow understands a little bit about counting objects.
Here she is giving it a try in Spanish. Neato, right?!
She knows her numbers all the way to 10 in Spanish now. She was rehearsing in the bathtub today.
Ankong and Ama called tonight and she got a good review of her numbers in Mandarin.
So far she has 1, 2, 4 (sometimes), 5, 6, 7, and 8 down. I’m still amazed that she learned this on her own. I certainly didn’t teach her. Just earlier today she was practicing on her own in the stroller. For some reason, she avoids the number 3 in both Mandarin and Spanish. Weird.

I guess Fun Fun Elmo is actually teaching her something. Today she was trying to count along with Guy Smiley. Amazing.
