This is one of her favorite books. Thanks for picking it out for her, Auntie Stephanie!
Brown Bear
She’s almost ready to read this book to Cousin Alice.
Elephants
Around the Farm
It’s fun to see how much she loves this book.
Thank you, Auntie Ranee for giving this to her for her first birthday.

It’s really been a big hit with her after so many months.
We also find her learning and understanding more and more each month. Recently, she started saying chicken, owl, turtle, meow, bee, and oink-oink.

It’s also interesting how she likes to do a rapid-fire version of reading this book. I’m still amazed that she has learned how to match the pictures to the buttons on the side.
Baaaaa
Somehow Janie can really make that shrilly sound in the back of her throat so well. It’s perfect for the animals on these pages.
Counting in Mandarin

So far she has 1, 2, 4 (sometimes), 5, 6, 7, and 8 down. I’m still amazed that she learned this on her own. I certainly didn’t teach her. Just earlier today she was practicing on her own in the stroller. For some reason, she avoids the number 3 in both Mandarin and Spanish. Weird.

Here’s a clearer video. It’s funny how she counts along with such enthusiasm.
Body Parts

Janie has been able to point to body parts for a few months now. However, I discovered today that Janie can actually name her body parts! Whut?! She also thinks it’s fun to whisper.
Blue’s Clues
We found old episodes of Blue’s Clues online and Janie loves the show. She follows along with their games and songs and has learned so much already!
Counting in Spanish

This evening I overhead Janie saying “uno, dos” over and over again. So I grabbed the camera and started recording. She’s learning so much!!
zoo book
Janie loves her zoo book. She pointed out the giraffes, of course, and surprisingly knew which one was the tiger! Wait ’til Auntie Teresa hears about this!!
