Gavin came over with some skateboards today and Janie picked it up right away! I love how kids have no fear. Even Peanut gave it a try and had no problems balancing on it.
Thursday Fun
Retirement Party
Soccer Stance
Mama asked him to “stop the ball” and immediately went into this pose. We are so happy that he’s actually learning stuff in soccer class at school.
Scooter Boy
Peanut put on Janie’s helmet and got a hold of her scooter for the first time. He actually managed to balance on it and push a couple times on his own. He’ll be ready for big sister to hand it down to him on his 2nd birthday!!
Feet up!
This afternoon, we went to SPARK Social SF for some Hawaiian food and Janie rode her Strider bike. She’s been making some progress in her balancing and riding.

This was on our way to lunch. She started to pick up speed and was comfortable stopping when she needed to.

Then on the way home, she found a nice hill at the park and put her feet up!! Way to go! This girl should be ready for pedals on a 2-wheeler soon!
Scooter and Stroller Morning
This morning we went to the Farmers Market and Janie rode her scooter with Dada on his bike.
Peanut rode in the stroller and looked super comfy.

On the way home, Janie learned how to use the brake on her scooter today!
I’m so tall!
This afternoon, Janie stood on her stool and said, “I’m so tall!”
Then she did her flamingo poses for Mommy.
This kid cracks me up.
Strider Practice

Janie got a little practice up and down the hall again this evening. She’s really eager to try it outside.
New Bike
Janie’s birthday gift arrived in the mail about 3 weeks ago and had been sitting in a brown box by the door until today when Daddy opened it to reveal the gift to her. She looked at it and said, “it’s a bicycle!”
She waited in her chair and watched Daddy assemble it. She looked like a little princess watching her minion do her bidding.
When it was time to try it out, she hopped on and wasn’t sure how it was supposed to work. It has only 2 wheels and no pedals. Hm… Mommy told her it was kind of like riding her Moo Cow and she said “ok, sounds good.”
Once she put on some pants, shoes, and a helmet, she took the bike for a spin up and down our hallway. She’s learning how to just walk with the bike while balancing and keeping it straight. It’s pretty slow right now and will take some practice but when she finally gets it, she will have learned how to balance on a 2-wheeled bike without needing training wheels!
