In celebration of Mother’s Day, Peanut had a special snack time and present for Mommy.
The kids all sang a song and it was funny to see Peanut and his buddy Franklin doing most of the singing.
Watch us grow!

Janie had Open House at school this evening. She was so excited to show me everything she had been working on and made. This is her desk.

There was a big packet of stuff to look through on her desk and all around the room.

We also got a cute photo of her with Ms. Kuoch. Her teacher said “It’s so nice to have Kaylee in my class. If I have a little girl, I want her to her just like her.” A-ha! She really IS teacher’s pet. I can see Daddy rolling his eyes while hearing this.

Janie comes home with so much artwork everyday. After cleaning out her backpack today, I found some gems.

This is the back of the picture: “Mom, Here is a wonderful picture for you. Love KK (but my real name is Kaylee)”

This was drawn on the day that she found a new bottle of hand sanitizer in her backpack. It smells like peach and has those tiny microbeads in it. She wrote: “Mom, my friends like the new sanitizer. Thank you mom!”

Here is a picture of the Easter Bunny. I asked what the blue stuff on that kid’s face and she said “they’re tears” but couldn’t explain why the kid was crying.

Janie started this book over Christmas Break and Mama found it in a pile of papers. So, she spent part of the day finishing it. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense but it’s nice to see her doing some creative writing and adding illustrations.

The title of the book is “The Egg That Was a Rainbow”.

One day, Dad egg went to the store with Peanut and Alice and KK.
(I love this picture of Dada egg pushing Peanut in the shopping cart.)

The 3 of them had so much fun.

On the next day, Dad egg was going to the store and it was raining. He did not like it.

Since Janie missed 9 days of school, we signed a Home Study Contract and completed an assignment that was prepared by her teacher. Part of it was to make a travel journal containing 9 pages describing what she did on her vacation.

“I went to Ocean Park. I saw a panda. There was an aquarium.”

“I had dim sum. I ate with Uncle Jason. I rode the bus.”

“I went to Disneyland. I went on Space Mountain. I went with my cousins.”

Janie made a card for Chris, the ferry crew guy, and included a photo of them together. She drew a picture of the ferry docked at the terminal with the passengers, dock, and even some Clipper card sensors. Her favorite part of riding the ferry was when he used to say “See ya later, Alligator” and she would reply with “Toodaloo, Kangaroo”.
