Watch us grow!
Mama left Janie a note on the board this morning. She wrote back with “No. I am almost 5.” Somehow being almost 5 is WAY better than being 4.
Here’s our last photo of our 4-year-old right before going to bed. This little sassy-pants is gonna love being 5 tomorrow. She hasn’t stopped talking about her birthday all month.
Janie dyed some eggs this afternoon .
She made neon-colored eggs and they came out great! They are so bright and colorful!
Just minutes after the “all done” photos, she wanted to eat the purple one.
The neighborhood kids are having an egg hunt today for Easter so we got up early. Peanut was ready with his bunny hat.
All the kids stayed inside while the parents hid the eggs around the playground.
All the kids gathered on the lawn and waited for the hunt to start.
There they go!
Peanut got a couple eggs but was more interested in playing on the slide.
The egg hunt finished right before the rain started coming down pretty hard. Good thing it was scheduled pretty early this morning.
We were too distracted with signing papers today to take any photos of the kids. We got 4 offers today and we accepted one of them. After 7 days on the market and exactly one month after we moved into the new house, Janie and Peanut’s first home has been sold. Bye bye San Francisco House!!
Mama bought Peanut a cupcake to celebrate Peanut’s half birthday.
He was fascinated by the candle.
He also got a good giggle out of big sister blowing out the candle.
Amazingly, he also ate quite a bit of his cake. It was a passionfruit cupcake. Yummmm…..
It’s Chinese New Year and the start of the Year of the Rooster. We had dinner in Millbrae with the usual gang and got another photo of the kids together again.
Janie asked for one of her favorite meals for our first dinner of 2017 – Khao Mun Gai!! Dada’s getting really good at it.
We celebrated the new year at 12:00 am EST this evening. Both kids passed out shortly afterward. Aaaahh…
We’re looking forward to all the adventures that are in store for us in 2017!! Happy New Year, Everyone!!
Auntie Stephanie advised us to open our gifts before our trip to SoCal so Janie opened her gift and helped Peanut with his. They each got a shirt with a Disney character on it – perfect for our visit to Disneyland on Saturday!
Peanut also received an “indestructible” book. Looks like he’s accepted the challenge! Will keep you posted.
Then since we were on a roll, Janie opened their gifts from Sophie and Avia. Janie was so happy to see that she got a Skye Paw Patrol action figure. She even said “Sophie knows Skye is my favorite pup!”
After all three toddlers took a late nap, they woke up refreshed and ready to play.
Meanwhile Dada made Thanksgiving dinner for us all.
Peanut was getting hungry and wanted Thanksgiving to start right way.
We had all the usual fixings and Janie helped set the table.
Peanut had his first Thanksgiving meal and loved the turkey.
He also got a small portion of all the sides and loved using his fork to stab everything.
Janie especially loved her Dada’s mashed potatoes. She says they’re the best.
Everyone enjoyed the tasty feast and it was so much fun to have Uncle Jason and Auntie Jia back in town.
