Watch us grow!
This morning when I woke Janie up for school, she asked, “Are we going to school?” I replied, “Yes.” She paused and said, “OK. Can I bring Big GG to school?” And I said, “Sure.”
Thank goodness the teachers don’t care what she brings to school. They tell me that she just needs to sit in her chair for about 5 minutes after I drop her off and then puts her giraffe away for the rest of the day and joins the rest of the gang for breakfast.
I’m not sure why but when the kids get stickers in the afternoon, they all put them on their foreheads. Today, she came home with a baby chick or “pollito” on her face and wanted to keep it on when we got home.
Janie is always so happy when I pick her up from school.
Today she had lots of artwork to show off and bring home.
She’s been taking GG and Big GG to school with her and they all sat on her lap in the car on the way home.
We had some silly expressions on the way to school this morning.
Janie’s also starting to walk to school instead of insisting on Mommy carrying her. We tell her that Mommy’s tummy is getting too big to carry her. Instead, she carried Big GG to school. Aah…Mommy’s back is really loving this.
This afternoon, I snuck in and watched Janie playing with a little girl. It’s fun to see her in action when I’m not around.
She got an Easter egg wand to take home today and showed it off with GG.
It’s Friday again and I was so happy to see Janie back to her old routine at school. When I picked her up, she was happily rocking on one of the riding toys.
After dinner, we went for a walk and Janie had a fun time riding her tricycle across to China Basin Park where Dada went hunting for rocks for his fish tank.
This evening, Janie found her old friend Moo Cow hiding in the corner. It’s been so long since she had ridden it and she has certainly grown a lot. She barely fits it anymore. Regardless, she had fun taking Big GG for rides.

She called it the Cow Car and pretended to take him places like school, work, shopping, and even Disneyland.

Later on in the game, she started to pretend to be Mommy. It’s pretty funny how much she picks up in our daily routine. She even imitated Mommy forgetting her keys in the morning. She also picks up Big GG from school and says “See, I always come back.” And when Big GG falls on the floor, she says “be careful!”
So far this year, Janie has been enjoying school. She doesn’t cry when we get to school anymore and will sometimes walk into the house on her own. Unfortunately, she still likes to be carried for extra hugs in the morning.
Despite fighting bedtime last night, this little girl was in a pretty good mood this Monday morning. Thanks for the new shirt, Yai!
This afternoon, Mommy found Janie her playing with her friends at school.
She was very proud of the giant tower that she made.
