Watch us grow!

At school, Janie made a self portrait. Her teacher made a point to tell us that she chose to make her mouth/lips purple. We didn’t think it was such a big deal until we saw all of them together.

All the kids used red or pink and she’s the only one with purple lips. Haha, she’s such a rebel and it doesn’t surprise us one big.

This afternoon, Janie was in the middle of painting an alligator when Mama came to pick her up. She does such a great job washing her hands all on her own at school. I wish we had a kid-sized sink at home.

This little girl was so happy to see us when we picked her up from school today.

Janie went back to school today after a very long weekend and though there were tears in the morning, she had a good time there.

Each morning when Janie gets dropped off at school, she makes a request for who she wants to pick her up in the afternoon. Today, she told Yai that she wanted Mama, Dada, and Peanut to pick her up – the whole family. We can’t always fulfill her requests but today we did. She was so happy to see us and chuckled a bit when she saw Peanut in the stroller too.

Before heading home, she gathered her artwork with her teacher and gave them both hugs.

This evening’s walk home involved the use of both our strollers at the same time.

On the way home, we stopped for a snack at a local cafe and she got to finish what was packed in her lunchbag.

She sat on Dada’s lap since it was too hard to reach the table from the bench.

Peanut also got to eat and then stayed awake for a while.

Our last stop was the local pizza place to pick up dinner. While we waited for our order, Janie tried to feed Mama some of the scraps of paper that she had made at school.

Silly girl.

This is how we brought the pizza home tonight. Thanks, Peanut!

Mama picked up Janie from school today and we stayed for one last story with Miss Sharla.

Janie’s preschool started their new school year today so both Mama and Dada picked her up today. She was in the middle of a goodbye circle when we arrived. They were saying goodbye to the older Alligators who were moving on to the Whale class.

Janie also got a new cubby photo. Her eyes were closed in the one she had last month so Mama was so happy to see a better photo for this school year. Her cubby also got moved to the other side of the hallway with the rest of her classmates.

For the new year, we also got some photos of Janie with the quilt. It was mostly because Mama had just taken Peanut’s picture and she thought it was her turn.

She’s officially 40 months old and has become a big sister AND a preschooler this past month. Love you, Big Girl!

This afternoon, Janie was cutting paper into tiny pieces when Mama came to pick her up.

On the walk home, it suddenly got quiet from the stroller and it turned out that she had fallen asleep. Not sure how this evening will turn out.

Mama has to pack Janie’s lunch everyday and this morning, Janie helped by peeling her hard-boiled egg.
