Morning drop-offs have been really easy. Today, Janie pushed Mama out the door and said, “bye!” That’s her friend Gabby waiting to play with her.

We got Janie’s class picture back this week. Apparently not many kids, including ours, were in the mood to smile this morning.

*snip snip snip* This is still one of her favorite things to do at school. She often comes home with little pouches filled with tiny scraps of paper that she has snipped.

This afternoon, Janie was busy putting away her artwork.

She files away her stuff in an envelope that has her name and picture on it. At the end of the week, we usually take it all home.

We didn’t need the stroller this evening on our commute home. She did great holding Mama’s hand on the walk over to the Muni stop and then waited patiently for the train to arrive. I don’t know if it’s the hair, the backpack, the outfit, or the whole combination but she looks like such a big girl today.

Lately, Janie has been staying at school longer and she loves Tea Time with her friends. She often doesn’t want to go home until she has her snack. There are a lot of kids that stay at school past 5pm.
Janie went back to school today and had no tears this morning when Yai dropped her off.

When we picked her up, there were new things to see on the bulletin board. This past month, all the kids were asked “If you could be an insect, what would you be and why?”

Here are a few of the answers including Janie’s.

The teacher also posted some photos from Curriculum Night and some other things that they had done in October.

Here’s a picture of Janie in line with her classmates. They go on walks around the city together. I’m amazed that the teachers can keep them all together.

They also learned about bugs this past month and there’s a picture of Janie feeding the ladybugs with other girls in her class.

Janie got picked up a little later today so she was there for Tea Time (an additional snack at 5:15).
She was happily sitting with Henley and Radit and said, “I need to finish my snack with my friends.”

Today was Soccer Day at school and she got her very own jersey! Fancy!

Mama found this posted on the bulletin board this morning. I’m happy to see that big smile on her face.

One of the perks of living in the city is taking a train to work instead of riding in a car. Janie got a seat today on the less-crowded train today.
