We’re on our way to Dolores Park and Janie is facing forward in the carrier for the first time!
Afternoon at Modern Mouse
Janie went to visit Auntie Eleen at her shop today.
We’re looking forward to meeting Mini Eleen this September!!
Jazz for Janie
This afternoon, we rode the bus to the Fillmore Jazz Festival. Janie rode with Daddy in the front carrier and held onto his shirt during the bus ride. So cute!
We got seats on the lawn and listened to Mommy and Daddy’s favorite performer. Janie sat in Mommy’s lap for the whole thing and took a quick nap too.
Family of 3
A Day at the Races
This afternoon, Janie went to watch her Uncle James ride in a cycling event. It was a warm sunny day in San Rafael with lots of stuff for Janie to see and hear.
She hung out with Daddy in the carrier for the first half of the day and took a few naps.
Looks like her SPF 50 hat did it’s job in keeping her from burning. We also got to hang out under the Muscle Milk tent to stay cool.
Later we got the stroller from the car so she could cool off and stretch out. She seemed pretty content watching the bikes zoom by and listening to the cowbells and cheering. It was so stimulating that she didn’t bother to take any more naps until the sun went down.
Her tasty hand also kept her pretty occupied.
Taxi Ride
Janie went out with Mommy and Daddy to dinner and rode in a taxi for the first time today!
Lunch with the Ladies
Janie goes to lunch on Thursdays with Mommy and her friends from work. She got extra snuggles from Auntie Teresa today.
Future Pals
On our morning walk today, I got a cute photo of Janie with her doggie Koa. They don’t interact much now but I’m hoping they will be pals later on when she’s crawling around the house.
Hula Baby
This afternoon I took Janie to hula practice since I hadn’t seen my hula sisters since last October and of course they wanted to meet Little Janie.
Here’s a photo of her with Auntie Dot.
We had a front-row seat of practice and Janie LOVED watching them.
Maybe it’s the familiar music that we play at home or maybe it’s the uli ulis rattling rhythmically in-sync. I just know that she quietly sat in my lap and watched for 20 minutes straight without a peep or squirm. Then during the kahiko (acoustic/chanting) she fell asleep instantly. I think it’s because the rhythm of the gourd sounds like a heartbeat.
Can’t wait for her to be old enough to join the keiki group!
Therapy
Janie went to Mommy’s work today and got some informal therapy/playtime with Aunties Sue and Karen. She also helped Auntie MaryAnn with her paperwork.
