Dim Sum Date

img_7216

We drove straight to Royal Garden from the airpot for dim sum with all of KK and Peanut’s uncles, aunties, and cousins.

We had been looking forward to this weekend for a very long time and it was so nice to see everyone.

Peanut got right to work on lunch and tried using a fork on his own today.

He had such a good time poking and eating on his own.

At one points, all 5 kids were at the fountain together but it was pretty impossible to get them to stay in one place and look at the camera at once.

This was the perfect way to kick off the long weekend and we had a satisfying meal after a long morning of travel.

regulars

img_6893

We are regulars at this Thai restaurant down the street. We often go eat here when Dada is out of town or working late. The servers even recognize us – likely because you don’t often see a lonely mama with her two kids at this place. Dada wasn’t feeling well so we had an early dinner here without him. One of the servers even asked Mama in Thai “where’s your mom?” since this is also a regular place that we bring Yai when she is staying with us.

Janie asked the server for “Tom Kha Goong”, her favorite coconut soup. Mama was surprised she remembered what it was called in Thai and the waitress was delighted. Peanut loved the Pad Thai and ate 5 huge cubes of tofu all on his own.

Costco Lunch

img_6848

For lunch today, we went to Costco. Dada had to buy some chicken and we all needed to eat something.

img_6849

Janie shared her pizza crust with Peanut and everyone was happy.

Then it was time to shop and the kids continued to snack. This is how we keep them entertained and well-mannered during a chaotic and crowded Sunday afternoon at Costco.

pizza and toys

img_6791

For lunch today, we went down to Burlingame to have pizza.

img_6792

Look at this pizza-eating monsters! RRRR!!

img_6799

Peanut also got some pizza and was delighted to have his own piece to chew on.

Afterward, we went across the street to the toy store. There was so much to do in the store, including this marble race display.

The kids each scored a Wonder Wand. It’s amazing how entertaining something as simple as water and glitter can be.

little monster

img_6765

This little guy reminds me of a little monster. He eats with gusto and does not care about rubbing his food all over his face. This evening, it was black beans on his face and in his hair.

img_6775

He has a cute side that also has a little spark of mischief behind it.

img_6778

Take your eyes off him for just a second and he’s up to no good. He is particularly fond of the clock radio lately.
