Peanut had picture day today. He wore his polo shirt and Dada did his best to style his crazy hair. I think he even used gel!
I’m curious to see how the photos come out. The teachers had him go last because he was not very cooperative this morning.
Watch us grow!

Mama and Dada each got calls from school today to let us know that Janie’s loose tooth came out during her nap. She woke up with the tooth in her mouth, brought it to her teacher in her hand, and said “I have a loose tooth”. Her teacher replied, “Oh no honey. It’s not loose anymore.” They put it in a giant plastic ziploc bag and she brought it home today. Our little girl is growing up way too fast.
Peanut looked a little swollen this morning but he was perfectly happy with his breakfast this morning at school.
Dada also made an attempt at doing Janie’s hair for school this morning.
As if getting held down and poked at the hospital wasn’t already bad enough. This afternoon, we took Peanut to Dada’s Supercuts for another haircut. His hair was getting pretty long and shaggy.
While he waited his turn (Dada had an appointment first), he watched Janie play a game on Dada’s phone.
He also entertained himself with a few selfies.
Here is the before and after comparison. He looked like such a big boy after his haircut and we could see his ears again!
He tried to walk home from the shop but he was too slow and clumsy so he got a ride on Dada’s shoulders the rest of the way.
This evening, Peanut fell down and hit his head on the kitchen cabinet. It left quite an impressive goose egg on his forehead. Luckily, he was acting normally right after and hasn’t made any fuss about it. I’m sure this is just the first of many to come in his lifetime.
Janie helped Ta in the backyard today.
She got to see a dragon fruit still on the tree.
She was very excited to show Mama the tiny baby leaves growing in some of the pots.
She also picked her own pomegranate from Ta’s tree.
Ta also plucked a plumeria off another tree and put it behind Janie’s ear. So pretty!
Peanut also got a haircut today. Ta gave him his first haircut a few months ago so this is his second time. This is his “before” photo. His sideburns were out of control and we couldn’t see his ears anymore.
This haircut required a little more wrangling and restraint compared to his first one since he needed the back trimmed too.
We also couldn’t keep the smock on the whole time so we just gave up and took it off.
Here’s our handsome boy all trimmed and less moppy. He also looks like a boy now so the ladies won’t mistaken him as Janie’s little sister anymore.
This afternoon, Janie got her first haircut EVER. We all went to Dada’s Supercuts and Miss Holly cut her hair. She was scared but mustered up enough courage to do it. To keep her distracted, she got to play a game on Dada’s iPhone. Doesn’t she look like a teenager in this photo?!
We trimmed off about 5 inches and now it looks a lot cleaner. She also got a lollipop from the ladies or being so brave.
We are all set for picture day on Thursday! Cheeeese!
The nice ladies gave us a bag to keep a lock of her hair. I’m thinking maybe we cut more like 6 inches off!!
In case anyone was wondering why this boy never has socks on, it’s because he pulls them off just seconds after they are put on. This evening, he started with socks and two blankets on his feet. This time, it took about a minute before he was free again. *sigh*
This chubby baby is bustin’ out of his pants and shirts. This is why he still needs to wear onesies.
