We are in the middle of a heat wave in the Bay Area and my car registered 100 degrees this evening when I picked up Janie from camp.

The kids cooled off with popsicles in the bathtub and then slept in our room because we have a portable AC unit that cools off only one room.

It’s Memorial Day and we’re all home. What we love about this day is that the trash still gets picked up and the kids love to watch the trucks do their jobs. They think it’s so cool when they work so hard to take out the trash on Sunday night and get to watch it get picked up the next day.
