When we were in Hawaii, Auntie Yoon gave Janie a box of these pink candies from Sugarfina. We brought them home and Janie has been asking for one candy for dessert every night. We had no idea they would be such a hit with her. To show her gratitude, Janie wrote a thank you card and put it in the mail.
In case you can’t read the card, it says
Dear Auntie Yoon,
Thank you for the pink candies. I eat one every night for dessert.

Janie’s school was closing early today so Dada decided to just take the day off to spend it with her at home. They did a lot of hanging out in bed before heading out to Safeway to pick up the remaining items we need for Thanksgiving Dinner.
She also helped out by writing the menu. Way to go!!
Janie still enjoys these write-and-wipe books. It’s nice to see that she still likes to write too.
Mama found Janie quietly working on her workbook today and made a hippopotamus and crocodile. It was the perfect activity for her while Dada was on a late work call.
Mama bought Janie some new workbooks at the toy store yesterday. This one is a connect-the-dots book with writing words. It’s a write-and-wipe book so she can do the workbook over and over again.
Janie wrote out our “map” for today. Looks like we have a jam-packed Saturday ahead of us! (Love her spelling of everything!)
Now with “Get Ready Days” over and a month of what her class considers “summer camp”, today was the official first day of Pre-K. Mama was home but Mimi still came to hang out with Peanut for the day.
Dada had to go to work early so Mama and Janie rode the 10 bus to school this morning.
Here’s Janie in front of her school. It’s the brick building on the corner waaaaay back there. The playground is on the roof of the building covered by a huge awning protecting them from the debris overhead from the building being built next door. She’s also standing right in front of Dada’s work. Super convenient, right?!
She signed her name on the clipboard while Mama checked her in on the computer.
She then chose the puzzle area and made the fireman puzzle that she was telling us about this morning.
She later chose the writing area while her old buddies from the Alligator class joined her. Arthur, the one on the right, started the Whale class today. Janie was busy making a birthday card for Dada.
Mama was off today so Janie got to take the train with Mama and Peanut. She loves Mama’s old SF map and took it with her.
At school, she signed her name at the door.
After drop-off, Peanut got to explore The Embarcadero a bit before his eye doctor appointment.
He also got to try out big sister’s milk thermos for the first time and it was a success!
He looks like such a big boy!!
This evening, Janie drew a “map” for her bedtime routine with checkboxes. I love the little pictures she drew next to each word. She also did her best to spell all the words on her own.
