Janie’s drawings have gotten a lot more sophisticated lately. Her family looks like a bunch of monkeys now with details such as ears, eyebrows, and toes. In this picture (above), it’s the family playing soccer together. From left to right, it’s Dada, Janie (with her tongue sticking out), Peanut, and Mama with dangling earrings. That yellow and black thing in the middle is the waning gibbous moon.

In this next picture, it’s our new house (on the left) in the distance with the playground complete with steering wheel, spiral pole, stairs, ladder, and slide. She also has a bed under the play structure for some reason. She drew Peanut up on the play structure (to the right of the steering wheel). The swings are on the right in the distance. Janie also said “I only drew me and Peanut because you and Dada let us go to the playground by ourselves.” Haha.

Janie is learning about shapes at school right now. She came home with this cool collection of shapes that she drew.

The kids did some drawing/scribbling this morning.

Janie drew a picture for Uncle Jason and Auntie Jia. So cute.

It rained all day today so we stayed home. Peanut tried using markers today.

He liked pounding dots and carrying the markers place to place around the house. He also managed to get marker on his tummy and legs.

Here is his first piece of artwork. He added a little flair at the bottom with his drool.

This afternoon, Mama and Dada had a meeting with the Kindergarten specialist at the school. Afterward, Janie got picked up early. She was so happy to see us at the same time. This is Tiffany, one of her favorite teachers at school.

We also found some funny things on the walls today. This is a description of herself. It says:
My name is Kaylee. I have 20 shiny teeth behind my red lips. My hair is black. It’s soft and very long. I have black round eyes. I can blink my eyelashes so fast. My head is a circle around everything.

They are also learning about feelings this month. They had to pick one, draw a picture, and tell a story about the feeling. She drew a sad cat (those are whiskers on the mouth). She said:
One time my dad was leaving. I felt sad because I through he was going to leave me at home.
We have no idea what she’s talking about but that would certainly make a little kid sad.

After breakfast, the kids did a little drawing. Peanut still doesn’t really get the whole idea of using crayons yet but had fun making a lot of noise with them.

Later, while Little Brother was napping, Janie worked on one of her craft kits. She got this one from Ama last year and did most of it on her own.

Here is the final product. She went a little crazy with the glue and tissue paper but it came out rather well anyway.

Janie came home from school with two drawings. Top one is our house and “we live in 8”. Bottom picture is the “our 10 bus”. She’s been taking the bus to her new school everyday and loves it.

It’s going to be Ta’s 72nd birthday (significant in Thai culture) on Saturday so Janie made a card for Yai to take back to Cerritos to give to him.

This is the front (top) and this is the inside of the card (bottom).
