It’s Ankong’s birthday so the kids worked on a card together. Peanut drew a picture and said “this is a penguin”.

At dinner, Peanut drew bananas. He kept yelling “five bananas!” and “take a picture!”

They really do resemble bananas. The orange one on the left is a pretty good one.

Janie made a bunch of tiny watermelons.

She also drew two jack-o-lanterns. Not bad!!

Janie has been learning how to draw certain things by following steps instructed by the teacher. She made a compilation of them along with a Happy Hallown in rainbow lettering. My favorite is the bird on the top right.

Janie drew a family portrait. Peanut is to tiny that it looks like he’s standing far far away.

Janie is on a big drawing explosion since starting Kindergarten. Every afternoon, we find her huddled at the art table in her afterschool program with all her buddies. The drawings are getting more detailed and elaborate.

Here’s a festive pumpkin-themed picture.

Today was our day to try out the swim lessons/classes at Aquatech. Peanut went first at 9:00 am so Janie stuck around and drew pictures.

He cried and screamed for at least 15-20 of the 30 minutes in the class.

This is one of the pictures that Janie drew. She said the top left object was a chocolate waffle, there are two fish below it, then a waffle tiger (orange and yellow), and a cheetah.

Then it was her turn at 11:00. She was super nervous about getting in the water. She nodded “no” to everything. Eventually she did go in and did just enough to warm up to the thought of swim class. When it was all done, she said “I will do better next time now that I know what to do.” I hope she isn’t as much of a chicken next weekend.

Janie drew a whale yesterday.
Had to do some purging over the weekend so I took photos of the stuff I particularly liked.

Here’s sun that Peanut made this summer at school. Anything with googly eyes is super cute.

Janie has been coming home with at least one card for someone in the family everyday. She really enjoys the art table at her afterschool program. She’s been into coloring rainbows in everything. Top is the front. Bottom is the inside of the card.

She was really into drawing ice cream cones for about two weeks this past month. Here is one of many that came home in her backpack.

This is a doodle that Peanut made back in March (3/31/17)…very colorful.

He also made this watermelon at school.

This is a picture that Janie drew in July (7/8/17). We all have belly buttons now.

Here is the map she drew on the back of her graduation invitation. She was riding the transbay bus with Dada a lot that month. It says “map KK Alameda” on the bottom.

Around July 4th, Peanut made his version of the American flag. Love it.

Here is a more recent doodle from Peanut (9/19/17). It’s much more detailed and he made a footprint. The bottom says “This is how big my foot is”.

Janie’s been into drawing lately. Here’s the latest one she drew this evening. She even knows how to write the date at the top for me too.
