I secretly cut two little slits at the tip of GG’s pacifier today.  It’s still intact but has suddenly lost its suction power!  When I gave it to her, she put it in her mouth, sucked a couple times, and then shook GG around with a puzzled look on her face.  It was as if she was thinking “what’s wrong with this thing?!”

9:00 pm

So far, she hasn’t been upset by it but she’s also lying in bed talking to herself instead of sleeping.  It’s fun listening to her trying to settle down but I hope this doesn’t turn into a disastrous night.

9:45 pm

She’s asleep in turtle mode and without the pacifier in her mouth.  Instead, GG is tucked in her arms.  Woot. I’d say that was a successful Night #1 so far!  We’ll just see what happens when she wakes up at midnight looking for GG.  Stay tuned!

Next Morning

Last night, Janie only woke a couple times (like she usually does) and went back to sleep on her own. In the morning, she was up and chipper as usual. If she can still have her GG as a companion but suck on the pacifier less this week, I’ll be happy.
