Full-time Daycare

Today was Janie’s first day back at school since the holiday and the beginning of going to school Monday through Friday.  This morning, she said “go in the car with Mama” and the drop-off went very well.  There were no tears and I was able to just leave without any fuss.  That was such a relief because she usually doesn’t do well after a long weekend.

When I arrived in the afternoon, she was sitting with her pals around the table coloring.

In the car, she was talking non-stop and has been in such as good mood all evening.  It may be because she got 12 hours of sleep last night and it may be because she actually enjoyed school today.  We shall never know but I’m just happy she’s happy.

Come in, Mama!

Janie didn’t cry at drop-off today.  I was so proud of her.  She just sat down at the table and started eating her breakfast.  In the afternoon, it was raining so the kids were all inside.

When I arrived, she said, “OH! It’s Mama!”  Then she took my hand and said, “Come in, Mama!”  It’s nice to see that she’s having a good time at school.

Spanish lesson

When I arrived at daycare this afternoon, Janie didn’t notice me so I had the chance to just sit and watch them in action.  Tia Irma was giving her daily Spanish lesson including wild and farm animals.

She hasn’t learned them all yet but by the sound of all the other kids who have been there much longer, she will get them in no time.

Friday at Daycare

Janie has been doing so well lately with drop-off.  She’s always on the verge of tears but doesn’t cry anymore.  I can’t help take a photo of her when she gets picked up.

On the way home, Janie likes to point out things she sees through the window and  sometimes sings along to songs she hears on the radio.

Lots of Friends

This afternoon, Janie was sitting with her friends at school while they were in the middle of listening to stories and songs.

She’s starting to name the kids at her school.  I think that’s a good sign that she’s enjoying school.  By the way, there were no tears at drop-off again this morning.  Yay!
