It’s been about a month since Janie got her very own bed and “room”. She loved it and then she hated it and now she loves it again. Lately, I just tell her to go sit in her bed (about 45 minutes before bedtime) and she says “ok Mama”. Then she turns on her lamp, picks out some books, finds her dinosaur flashlight, and spends about 30-45 minutes hanging out, reading, playing, or singing to herself. This week, she’s been able to fall asleep on her own without begging for someone to read to her or complaining that she wants to do something else. This bed has been a great addition to our home and her life.
And this is why toddler beds have a siderail. I found her like this this morning. She would have ended up on the floor without it.
